Its out!
Removing the trans allowed the engine to easily be lifted straight out of the bay. Its so much easier than fishing the whole engine/trans out the front while juggling the car up and down. I've done the old way too many times in the past, this took under 20 minutes once everything was disconnected.
So much room for activities
Prepping the new engine. The exhaust needs some minor modifications to seal better, and to move the O2 sensor closer to the turbo - The O2 readings seem skewed. Sealing leaks and moving the bung up 4 v-bands should help

Very carefully (Joking). Ill put the right amount in, it gets changed often enough.
Hmm.. I wonder if the V-band is leaking here...
There are no flex joints in the waste gate piping
Its creating this gap at the turbo, which is also leaking. I've ordered some 304 bellows to fix the issue. It will be interesting to cut and weld the dirty stainless
Gratuitous engine shots

Great call on the flex sections. You're making killer progress!

Welded mounting tabs and bosses onto billet coil mounts. There was limited space left on the engine, I wish I had chosen the smaller LS2 coils instead of D585's, they would have fit much more easily
Passenger side coils had to be split up to fit around all the obstacles

Making custom plug wires
Wiring in the new ignition coils and some pressure sensors for: Fuel, Oil, Water pressure
Wiring complete. The last step will be addling loom and tape to protect it

I've ordered a Hughes built 4L80E with billet 3 disc lock up converter and an SFI bellhousing. I'm so done with transmission failure, this is rated at 1000hp. Thanks to "Stilloem" for the advice on ditching the 700r4 for a 4L80E
