Killer progress, and huge props for tearing that thing down and assembling yourself!

I need 1000hp capability, preferably automatic for drag racing, and to hit 200 mph I need a .75 or lower overdrive with a lock up torque converter. The options I considered were 700R4 (no ECU, cheaper) or 4L80E (Pricey, needs separate ECU). What would you pick with this criteria?

MLS head gasket, .010" over stock thickness.
Heads test fit, with test springs under the Cyl1 buckets. There is playdough in Cyl1 to check piston-valve clearance
Cam gears removed from the old cams. Playdough!!
Kelford Cams unboxed. The exhaust cam gears dont clear the larger lobes of the high lift Kelford Cams. Their experts recommend grinding a relief into the gears to clear the lobes. That's something new for me, but it makes sense.

scissor gears notched to fit the Kelford Cams 207-T1. Small notches are just barely visible at the top, it took a brand new sharp carbide burr to cut the hard steel.

The gears are a 0.001-0.002" press fit on a ~1.7" diameter. A press is mandatory, nothing else I tried would make it budge
Heating the gear to expand it helps the assembly go smoothly. I prefer the microwave method, I feel the torch might anneal the metal under the flame. To see the Microwave method google AVE Microwave bearing (Not mine) (NSFW Language).
Assembly complete. The first one took ~1hr due to the learning curve, the second took minutes.

One exhaust can lobe interferes with this location on both heads
Head dressed up for surgery, to keep aluminum chips out of the block
Clearancing complete
Cams in!
Belt on, to spin the engine around and check valve-piston clearance
There is >0.250" valve to piston clearance, that's plenty
All torn back down. Everything will be re-cleaned and assembled properly.

I was focusing on the details of installing the Kelford Cams, there are no guides online for this. Hopefully those details will help someone else out in the future. Grinding the cam gears, hydraulic pressing them on to the new shafts, and clearance the head were the biggest challenges. The spin freely and seem to work now.

Those cams really turned into quite the project eh? Cool to see the assembly - rarely do I ever see 1UZ's torn apart and I'm very much enjoying it thus far.

Checking Valve Lash, 4 shims need adjustment
Popping the shims out. Apply compressed air with a rubber nozzle to the hole in the shim. Have a magnetic tool on the shim to prevent it flying away. The shim will take a few moments of air building up underneath, then pop off strongly.
Trying to rob shims from my spare engine, only one was the correct thickness. The remainder were ordered from Toyota.
Cutting 2x studs down to fit under the intake gear. I had to remove 8.1mm
Thinner hardened washers for under the intake gear. The ARP washers are 0.125" thick, these are 0.060" hardened steel washers (C38).
Finished assembly. The slot cut in the top allows for easy install/removal. When tightened there is one thread above the nut.
Its coming together.
LS2 Truck Coils! These should provide better spark than the stock twin coil set up.
