Got a little time to play with the project today, while my kids were sleeping.
First I had to pull the engine off the stand to do some work.
Unbolted the flexplate off the 2j, lubed the crank hole and installed the pilot bearing.
Followed by installing the flywheel and Arp lubed fw bolts and torqued them down.
Now I can install stage II Toyota mr2 exedy clutch disc and stage IV clutchmasters pressure plate, I’ll leave that for tomorrow!!
Enjoy pics

Pole Position
Excellent progress! These motors just look so damn good with the intake manifold plenum on the correct side of the motor. In for results!!

Today was a little productive, I hooked up my battery to the starter and wanted to check compression of the 2j, the engine was on the tire resting cold, I adder a tea spoon of engine oil into the spark plug holes and. ooked up the compression tester to each cylinder, and as I was testing I took these pics of each startup can someone please chime in and tell me if I’m good to drop this 2j in the car or should I replace the piston rings, everything inside cyl and piston tops were clean prior to head install
TT head gasket was installed last year torqued to 80ft/lb
Thank you in advance guys!!!

Dropped the engine into the 97 300, took the center console off to remove the auto trany(dildomatic is out)
installed the clutch pedal along with the cl master cyl, then installed the Intercooler.
Also installed the flywheel and the clutch plate and disc, but ended up somehow braking one of the clutch plate bolts, so I’m going to pull it all out and remove the broken stud and then reinstall.

All right, I wish I could post some pics, but cL won’t let me for some reason.
But, I got the w58 installed, bolted up the drive shaft, everything went smooth. Now I’m sorting on VVTI cop wiring and jdm rewiring ecu with VVTI igniter. I also extended the injector, tps and distributor wires so I can tuck the harness under the ffim for a clean look. Then I cut a couple of holes in the engine bay for 3” Intercooler pipes to go through.
Right now it’s a mess, still have to change clips on couple of sensors on the head, because head and block are obd1, car and wiring obd2, then wire safc2, then aem a/f gauge, after that catch can, radiator, hoses and fluids
got it pics but can’t upload

Thank you sir!!
I’m mad because I can’t post pics, club Lexus system crashes when uploads. Got my aem 340lph fuel pump I was working on my spare hanger it went well, and also made 2 brackets to hold my afpr next to the fitting off the rail , I think I got most of the fittings that I need, and need a 3/8” push lock fuel hoses
