Oil change for my GS 430
#6
supra baby, every engine runs differently. The add pack in one oil may be suited to your engine whilst not suited to another. This is one thing people often get confused with when having one good experience with one oil and then just saying that's the only oil I'll ever use or etc. Using UOA you can actually see how an oil is behaving, also your driving style plays a big factor.
I don't have a GS but have had mustangs, jeeps, lexus', honda's and many more. Each ran a different oil that was properly suited to the engine, my original LOL was to your tractor comment for clarification.
Castrol isn't a bad oil but in my UOA on these engines, Mobil 1 EP just performed better from the off the shelf oils. For me, I have no brand loyalty or affiliation, I just want what works best.
also today's engines require higher quality oils then ever before because of emission requirement changes.

Mobil 1 synthetic , 5w30, with Toyota filter 90915-YZZD3 with a change every 5,000 miles, which for me is about a year. My 2002 GS430 runs perfect, with 98,957 miles on it.
