PUREVIP UCF31 (Mode Parfume, T-Demand, Ulterior Motives, etc.)
Greetings CL. I've been on here for quite sometime now but have yet to post any official build threads for any of my rides. I feel it’s time to document this build somewhere because my memory just isn't as good as it used to be.
Randomly one morning in January of '16 I stumbled upon the exact car I've been looking for on Craigslist: a mint condition 2004 LS430 UL in Flint Mica. Although it wasn't saddle interior, black was the next best option. Surprisingly they accepted my cash offer and I was officially a UCF31 owner 24 hours later. The LS was immaculate; one registered owner, elderly driven, and every single maintenance record, even the original sticker of $75k! I attacked the suspension mods first. My buddy and fellow CL member Jonathan Lim happened to be parting out his UCF30 so I hopped on his set of Airlift struts that were still in great shape. I ordered Airlift 3H management from our friends at Outcast Garage in SoCal.

Time to send the 4x4 to alignment! It's about -12 in the rear and -10 in the front. My goal was to have them matching both at -12 through -14. Justin was a pleasure over at Affinity and accommodated the best he could. He's a wiz at drift spec, but he was not too familiar with the more aggressive type of camber adjustments I was looking for. I was originally looking to get the Aimgain "PURE VIP" kit because.. well... the name (duh). Jk, not just because of the name, but because to me it gave the the 430 a more updated look. But then I noticed that most of the 430 builds out there had that Aimgain kit. So I started looking into Mode Parfume and loved the Ga-Mu Regalia design. Coincidentally Patrick (GangstaLS) happened to be selling the whole kit here on CL. Not only that, but he was somewhat local (Southern California). I ended up driving down to SoCal September 7th and driving back up the same day. Sounds like a trek, but it sure beats having to wait 3-4 months for the kit to arrive from Japan!

Fast forward through the hectic holidays I was finally up next to be at Kimson's shop called Ulterior Motives. Kimson is a master at his craft when it comes to automotive metal work and body work. His vision, skill, and accuracy is unparalleled. People from all the way from Hawaii to Florida have their cars shipped just so Kimson could bless them with his work. I'm lucky enough to have known him for quite a few years even before he was working with Diamond Auto Body. He has since parted with Diamond and now focuses on his own projects at Ulterior Motives. Fenders are finally radiused! What a huge difference a radius makes! Note that my alignment and camber specs have not changed since September. Rear flare mocked up. Kimson and I spent a LOT of time talking about the type of flares I was looking for. I know it's hard to believe with me being in the "VIP scene," but in actuality I'm not much of a fan of the flamboyantly "LOUD" flashy look so I stressed to Kimson just how important it was for me to go for a more subtle higher OEM type of flare. I wanted to bring back clean and simple yet aggressively classy. What Kimson came up with aligned perfectly to my vision. As a group of car enthusiasts and car show attendees, our builds sometimes require a lot of custom work. On top of that, our builds usually revolve around car shows and car show deadlines. Because of all that I chose to go with Andy at Elite Auto Body to get the body work and paint done. I was looking for a group that could produce show quality work while maintaining a decent time frame. After all was said and done I couldn't be happier I went with Elite.
