At the time of this post, it has been three months since I purchased this vehicle in February. I've always wanted to have an SC to play with, but finding one in the Northeast that isn't beat to hell or rotted out is nearly impossible. I got rid of my third generation IS in April in hopes of finding a fun project car and this happened to pop up on eBay with ~70k miles. I called up the seller, made sure everything checked out alright, scheduled a PPI with a reputable speed shop down in North Carolina, booked a ticket, and drove the vehicle thirteen hours back up to Massachusetts. I've had no issues with this car thus far, it's been a real head turner, and makes a decent amount of power stock. All the panels on this car are original, the car has never been in a collision, and aside from the fading/mismatched paint it is in great shape. Every shop that has touched this vehicle says everything comes off like butter, no need to heat up or soak any fasteners. This vehicle has had the cleanest undercarriage they've seen, and that's even in comparison to newer vehicles that roll through their shops.
So far the vehicle only has suspension and exhaust done, but is currently under the knife for a new paint job and new aero. I will have updates later this week or the week after with final results. Stay tuned!

Just went on a shopping spree. Picked up materials for the paint job. Will be using Chromabase with Standox Clear, car should be ready to roll within a week or two!

Ran into some trouble with the original shop that was supposed to paint my car, they held onto the car for 3.5 months and the car still wasn't finished. They also used all my Chromabase & Standox, so to finish the job it was essentially redone with Glasurit. I had to call in a favor to have the car finished by someone else and they knocked it out in under a week. Unfortunately, I pulled the trunk with the lip on it from an SC400 and forgot to tell the shop to weld the holes on the Lexus emblem. I'll figure something out later. So, now she's all painted and has some new shoes.

Thank you, hopefully will be seeing you around once the car is ready. I don't plan on bringing it around until it's fully finished at least cosmetically.
I loved my IS as well haha, it just didn't make any sense to keep it. I still miss driving it, but I have an LS460L for daily comfort. Thanks though, just trying to do everything right the first time with this project.
