Better move and enjoy that car more .
very true Gerry. Which is why I put the power goals on the back burner so I can really lay out a plan. And bought some new wheels today instead 😀

HRE 446 19 staggered Supra fitment. They are awesome. Currently cleaning them now. Amazing the quality of these wheels.
Here's a sneak peak at a rear wheel before being cleaned. Stay tuned. More to come!

Congrats on the new wheels!

It looks like it has a 180 degree valve stem on the barrel instead of a 90 degree. Make sure you change to 90 degree before mounting the wheels on your car. I screwed up a few years back and mounted a wheel with a 180 degree valve stem in the back, and it scratched a brand new bbk and blew out a tire/damaged a wheel because the valve stem was smacking the caliper while driving and snapped. It was really close, but barely cleared when test fitting and spinning the rim.

The valve stems clear but I ordered new 90 degree stems and 160 new wheel bolts and nuts. Just mounted them (still need to be cleaned).

That's good to hear. I didn't want to see you make the same mistake I did.

Did you order hre bolts or an aftermarket company? If you're planning on splitting your wheels, then the torque spec is 22 ft lbs for M8x1.25 x 32mm bolts. The sealant is Dow Corning 733. I might have covered wheel building in my build thread, but I don't remember off the top of my head.

thanks for the info! I haven't ordered bolts yet because I want to see the actual condition of these first. It appears to only be surface rust so I'm going to clean them all up and see how they look before I drop $650 on hardware. I won't do the aftermarket bolts because I'm afraid the quality won't be there. Here is a before and after pic of a bolt I cleaned up with a soft bristle brass brush. Before

I guess $650 isn't unreasonable because HRE hardware is grade 12.9 (plus they engrave them). If you want to see unreasonable, ARP nuts and bolts are $1,636.16 (consumer price) bolts are 787.84 and nuts are 848.32.

I wasn't sure if you were replacing them because of the rust. I had to do the same on mine to remove the surface rust, then I polished 160 bolts.

*Edit* I just noticed your picture looks like it says 10.9 on the bolts.

Wow. This car STOPS. Can't wait to get the rear done. My HRE wheels are still being cleaned up but will be on next week. Also the rear 4 piston brembo brakes will go on next week. Here's a quick side shot. Someone wanted to see the z06 calipers with TT rears. Here ya go!

Jimmy just get some Evaporust and drop all the hardware in there. Will look brand new in a day. No scrubbing necessary at all. That stuff is amazing.

I would but I'm not quite ready to separate the wheels completely. So I'm doing 1 bolt at a time. It's tedious but it's working well!

Your car looks good! Are all the parts for the manual pedals still available from the dealer? Which transmission are you going with?

Jim, I had no idea you were looking for a W58 setup....I would have worked something out with you on my W58 in my SC300 when I would have it out....as I am planning a T56 Magnum swap after the body is done.
