Hopefully we can shed more light on this. First time I've ever laid eyes on an assembly with a pinkish reverse lense.

If you were to split the tail lights a part the outer lens has a red/pinkish tint to it. The reverse lens should be clear. The first time I became aware of this was from the custom tails that Scotturnot built. He bought brand new 95-96 tails and 97-00 tails and split them all a part.

I suppose I should've clarified; this is the first time I've laid eyes on a clear reverse lens. I knew that the outer lens had a pinkish tint to it.

Jim - I went back through the first pages of this thread to find the color code of your car . I might have missed it , my apologies if I did. What is the color code of that blue or was it a special mix ?

Am thinking of converting one of my 1992 into a blue color like RSP or your blue or that of the Tacoma Blue 8P1 (Speedway Blue)

thanks

the color is based off of 8U1 (ultra Sonic blue mica) but my painter reduced the amount of purple pearl and added more blue pearl so it is brighter. The initial color looked to dark for my taste. Too much purple. Also check out 8X1 which is Ultrasonic Blue 2.0. It's closer to the color I have. It's gorgeous in person!

i should add that the reason I didn't go with 8X1 is because it is a tri-coat paint and would be nearly impossible to match if I ever had to have something repainted. Tri-coat = base layer, then a complete pearled layer, then clear. So trying to match it is difficult at best.

I don't mind the purple at all.

Where are you taking them for powdercoating? If you need some recommendations let me know I know a place I use personally in Woodstock and another one closer to us both that's in Arlington Heights that does great work.

Can you give me the information for the person in Arlington Heights please? I use to go to a guy in Joliet, but the drive was a pain...looking for a nearby shop.

Thanks.

The purple might be ok if the car wasn't blue and my calipers weren't orange lol
