WOW 😲 this build is amazing. You are very dedicated when it comes to detail. Did you replace the whole interior or did you paint it?

the entire interior was replaced with black. The only parts that are painted are the wood trim which were all painted gloss black.

Power house racing makes a fitting just for this now.

It’s getting closer. Got the valve covers and can gear cover back from paint. I told my painter I wanted the valve covers bright and to be creative with the cam gear cover. He painted it molten pearl orange to match my calipers! It looks amazing! I couldn’t be happier!!

The shiny primer engine bay repaint looked beautiful on its own before you finished it with the matching exterior color! Love the attention to detail, Jim!

The engine with the VVT-i head looks perfect! Love the cam cover color choice. No wonder you sanded it down You've getting VERY close.

You'll likely have this installed, wired up, fired up and shredding some tires by next month!

I'm curious though... what Gerry mentioned about the later VVT-i 2JZ blocks being slightly different in terms of how Toyota got oil flow to the VVT-i cam gear/solenoid from the factory... how does that get connected on this setup? I notice you used an IS300 union bolt on your oil filter assembly but I assume you'll be using that for an oil pressure sender with an Earls 1/8 BSPT to 1/8" NPT adapter.

Thanks Craig! It won’t be ready for a few months still. Have to build a harness, run fuel, etc. but it IS getting closer for sure.

To answer your question:
the vvti head has a hard line with 2 banjo fittings to provide oil to the vvti.
Powerhouse racing makes a 1/8” npt adapter to allow the use of the factory banjo bolt from the vvti where the oil pressure switch used to be.
I will use the is300 banjo bolt feed the turbo. I will put a T there to accommodate the oil pressure switch.

That's a great color combo on the engine covers...nicely done!

Have you decided on what transmission yet?
