ClOsEr15's 13' Nebula Gray F-Sport

Been on the forums researching some things before posting my new (ish) car. Been around the car scene for awhile. Previous car was a 02 Mitsubishi eclipse. And was on the club3g forums and well known throughout the forum.

As of 10-19-2016 I am a proud owner of a 13' IS 250 F-Sport. HUGE (trump voice) upgrade from my previous POS.

current mods
F-sport lowering springs
WALD type trunk spoiler
roof spoiler
NOKYA hyper yellow fog light bulbs
VLED 360 puddle light bulbs
JL audio 12w6v3
JL audio HD750/1 amplifier with HD bass remote knob installed in one of the blank slotslot on left of dash
LC7i line output converter
NVX 1/0 gauge amp wiring kit
JL Distribution block (1)1/0 gauge inputs, (2) 4 gauge outputs for future 4 channel amp

Future mods
rear diffuser
finish the VLED conversion inside the car
JL audio HD600/4
Component speakers
un-sure if I want 19" wheels later on or not.

First are 2 pics of the before and after of my first car. Followed by the F-sport.
any input/suggestions/criticism is welcome.

Welcome! Good job cleaning up those headlights! They look great!

Some bump in the trunk eh? What you got to put in that hole and what's running it?

Thanks, I went to school for auto body and collision repair, so all I did was wetsand and buff them. I got $500 off from the dealer because I told them they were all scratched up and needed some attention. As well as a scratch on passenger side door that buffed out haha.

As of right now, the sub box was made specifically for a JL12w6. As far as amplifiers, amp kit, line output converter, im still researching what all I will need to easily install it to the factory stereo.

Here are some pictures of my system that is currently in my eclipse.

15" Fi Audio BL
Hifonics Brutus BRX2000
Hifonics Brutus BRX320.4 for components
Rockford fosgate T1 (i think) components in front doors
0 gauge KnuKonceptz amp wiring kit.

After some research on here and through guys on instagram, I recently ordered the Carking fiberglass spoiler. Everyone said it seems to fit better than the ABS plastic one you can order for way cheaper. Trunk spoiler will be painted 1H9 body color. Not really feeling the carbon fiber ones you can order.

Looking to order this roof spoiler next week.

Question.....

paint the roof spoiler body color?
or
gloss black vinyl wrap, along with the roof?

I'd grab one already in your car's body color and then wrap both the spoiler and the roof black. That way you can always change it back when you want.

Good job on the headlights.
Same happens here in Oz.
MY12 IS I picked up last week is still ok.

I have seen on ebay some sellers paint them too but for some odd reason most of them don't have the 1H9 paint code listed.

painting it is no problem. I work in a restoration shop and my boss said I can paint it at work for free.

Holy. Forgot you have the Nebula Grey. In that case, you're so damn lucky to have a shop to work in lol. Good luck!

Agree with nelly, paint it and wrap at after. I like the nebula grey. Sex.

+1 for a gloss black roof wrap, one of the best subtle changes you can make IMO

Headlights look great! What was your process?

ClOsEr15 Jan 7, 2017 04:30 PM

My roof spoiler came in friday (1/6)
WALD type trunk spoiler will be here next week, and I will be sanding/painting/installing them soon! (with pictures)

thanks.

All I did was wetsand both with 600, 800, 1000 with a soft block. Then use a DA and trizac paper 2000 and 3000. Followed by stage 1 and 2 buffing compound and polish.

I could reclear them, but I decided not to.

ClOsEr15 Jan 16, 2017 10:24 PM

so myou spoilers came in and was hoping to sand with #320 and prime, then wet sand and paint. But the body work on the car king rear spoiler was ****ing hideous. So I had to wipe it with filler and start from scratch. Same with the roof spoiler!

next thing.... before I install all my sound system... I'm wanting to get the f-sport lowering springs. I dont want to have to remove trunk panels once my system is in. Can someone send me some pics of before and after installing fsport springs?

I removed the stock spoiler and removed all the excess tape with a rubber wheel to test fit the new spoiler. FITS GREAT. The fitment looks a little off on the passenger side, only because I took the picture before I removed the Lexus emblem (it sits up a little higher on the right side). As far as the overall fitment, its great. Just a little gap on each side, and it actually means to the bottom body line of the trunk. I have seen some spoilers that there is a gap. This one however is about flush with it.

I just laid the roof spoiler on top and had a friend hold the other side down. Looks great, but the fitment is terrible! If you were to look at the spoiler from the back of the car, only the corners, and the middle are touching. In between those spots, there is a huge gap. REALLY hoping the double sided tape and some pressure will hold it down, if not, I may not keep it on the car :[

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE WITH THE WALD TYPE SPOILER!

However, there are 2 bolt holes on each end, and in the middle there were like 5 pop up inserts for the stock spoiler. They seem to be in the way when test fitting/installing the WALD spoiler. What did everyone do. Did you leave them in? Or remove them, and plug all of the holes? Once it is doublesided taped in, I am sure at some point water will go through and want to go into the trunk, and I DONT want that. I also put some of my sound deadening material on the trunk lid while I had the cover off.

I am really wanting to order the F-sport springs soon, and gey my car lowered and aligned, before I set my system up. I dont really want my system to be hooked up, and then have to remove it all, including interior panels, to take out the rear struts, then install system again.

any opinions are appreciated!
