I see you are yahoo auction guy now. smart guy...

Those fog covers do change the look of the front bumper drastically.

Ok, so I was able to get a picture of another test fit with natural light... I think I like it

So now I just need to drop them off to get filmed and they'll be ready for install.

You're not the first to think that haha.. cosmetic bits are all very preference driven

I've been into Japanese anime & related collectables for over 17 years now, so Yahoo Japan Auctions has been a long used frequent bookmark

As you can see on the above compare photo between the RC-F (left) and stock IS (right), they look almost identical with the exception that the RC-F ones are slightly bigger and has an engraved blue "+" & "-" sign. So installed will look pretty much identical to stock. But I do like the feel of aluminum vs the stock plastic. The "click" also feels a bit more crisp over the stock plastic ones.

For anyone interested in how the camera is mounted:
I did up a quick sketch with MS paint here:
I used an ikea bookcase anchor and bend it up as a bracket and bolted it to a tab that's part of the bumper cover.

the spacer/washer was used to space out the camera just far enough so the fish eye can see everything yet not far enough that it sticks out like a sore thumb.
hope this helps.

Thanks man, I'd say from start to finish, it probably took me 3 hrs? And that's taking my time to wrap/strap/split-loom up the wiring and keeping everything looking clean.

took another 20 mins to re-adjust the camera position to my liking after everything was put back together.

were you an electrical engineering major in college or did you learn how to do this via trial and error? that would have taken me, like, three days to complete and even then i would be doubtful if it were to work correctly. i'd have to have it installed.

anyhow, i really like what you have done and i wish that i could do it as well. i'm still waiting for my parallel parking unit from Nigel. he said it would take about three to four weeks from yesterday. hopefully sooner rather than later.

You don't have to be an EE guy to do this lol. If I can do it YOU can do it.
