Rule of thumb: if your car is slammed, oem axles are your only hope! The aftermarket neoprene boots do not stand a chance.
Installed an aftermarket axle and 2 days later, here is the result:

So now I will be hunting for an oem half axle.... and will likely be adding spacers under my motor mounts to reset the compromised geometry of the vehicle. This should straighten out the axle bind problem.

wow, how low are you from fender to ground? I wanted to drop my awd low and just risk it but that doesn't look pretty haha.

How long did your OEM axles last before they gave out at your height?

Rode around for about 1.5 years originally at 24.5" fender to ground, then for a couple months at 23" fender to ground, and now i'm sitting "comfortably" at 23.5" fender to ground (on 18" wheels, 255/35 tire).
In other words, it lasted quite some time -- this picture is of an aftermarket axle; when the oem axle's boot tore, it was less harsh looking trust me!

I always had 2 sets of axle, still do, but car back to stock
you can always re-man the 1st torn oem so you always have a spare to work with.
It was always my driver side boot, passenger side was always good. was that the same with you?

So far my driver's side has been the worst... I'll guess we'll see what happens when the new one goes in, with or without the motor mount spacers
