True- pricey and I worry about maintenance, but that'll be down the line. I might gain a little more clearance when I upgrade the wheels.

I thought about installing at least the allfit, but with little clearance, I wonder if it'll scrape right off.

Thanks. 5 coats of red caliper paint and 4 coats of clear coat. Not to mention lots of prep work. Hopefully it'll last.

Got my roof wrapped today. A friend did it at material cost and did it better than I could imagine. Looks great - Very happy with the outcome. Couldn't have done it without the wifey (she introduced the contact). Debating if I should continue and wrap the side mirrors and door handle like the Craftline

How did he remove the antenna?

gqwolf Mar 22, 2016 09:29 AM

I don't know if I did it the right way, but here is what I did:
1. Remove rear dome light cover
2. Remove bulbs
3. Use a plastic pry tool to get enough clearance for a finger to get a hold. PIA
4. Slowly pull the dome light fixture down. There are 4 metal clips that hold the fixture up. You are essentially bending the clips down far enough to where you can get a tool in there to get the clips off the headliner bracket.
5. Remove some light harness
6. Use the plastic tool to pop the headliner off the roof (by the rear windshield).
7. The hole left by the dome light and the headliner pulled down in the rear gave my small hands/arm enough room to work on taking off the antennae harness(press tab and pull brown harness downwards), then bolt (10mm).
8. After you take off the bolt and antennae, pay attention to how they fit back together. 9. I was nervous as I could tell I was creating creases in the cardboard backing of the headliner, but once reinstalled and flat, the creases go away. Time will tell if I messed up the liner adhesive.
10.You will need to remember this orientation when you reinstall.

I wish I would've taken pictures, cuz the forum doesn't really explain it well enough for me.

Like I said, I don't know if I did it the right way, but that's how I did it.

What's the drop on the springs you installed?

Sorry, I didn't measure before the install. I know I didn't want the reverse rake look that some people said they got with the rsr, so I went with tanabes. If I had to guess, it was bout 1.25". I have about 6" height by the front door and 6.5" by the rear tire.

Haha, that's one of the main reasons I don't want to go with the RSR downs. How's the driving ? Better thn stock or?

gqwolf Mar 26, 2016 10:43 PM

Stock is always gonna be ideal, but I would say it is comparable. I plan on replacing stock tires soon, so that should improve the ride more.
