nice find on that mustang shifter. To be honest, you don't really need the cup since you are designing the "cup" into your piece. We only needed the cup to give a cavity for the ball to rotate in since that little linkage piece was so thin. But you are essentially designing that cavity into the piece by making it so deep. You could just wait until that mustang shifter came in and then design your cavity to that ball size if it is different than the 240sx one. That would be nice

But to be honest, it doesn't really bother me the fact that it's not perfectly center. At first I thought that it might, but it really doesn't

looks similar but just swan necked, might be easier to start from.

edit*
you can just get that bend put in to the 240 shifter, but it will be hard to do reverse lockout on that or the mustang with a bend in it.
I will be leaving it straight up and down so its nice and crisp, retains the reverse lockout with the brz or supra top half of the shifter, and use the auto plate (maybe change the wood trim for carbon fiber).

Someone was selling one of the mustang shifters for $36 shipped, so I just picked one up to check it out.

Nice! Looks like a nice piece!

How long until you think you have it all back in?

Still waiting on the flywheel, but at least having this piece lets me start moving forward with some of the work. I think I have just about all the parts I need either in hand, or on order. So then it's just a matter of me getting things done, which is slow with our kids taking up most of my life. What I'll probably end up doing is taking a day off work here and there to power thru getting some of this done.

Also, I'm in the middle of switching over from MS3 to Infinity. So that's also going to slow things down a little.

Had a little time today. Got the bellhousing cut off. Got the input shaft cover removed. And got the little stud ground down.

I also got my mustang shifter in the mail today. It was missing the top shift lever piece so I have to return it. It is a hare less wide, so for the two mounting holes when you drill the hole large enough for an M8 it'll probably end up going through the sides a little bit. Not sure if that's a big deal or not. But I might just call this a lucky mistake and just return this for a refund, and not get another. I haven't decided yet.

looking good halon, since my bellhousing is already shaved I might go your route if I redo my setup to avoid buying a new transmission

keep those updates coming!

Slave installed, and bell housing on. Everything has fit perfectly. So far, extremely impressed with this adapter from Collins. You can tell he's taken things to a new level of quality, product seems much more matured!

My new fitting for the shifter is done as well. I'm going to test fit it tonight, hopefully it ends up fitting well.

Version 3 of the fitting done. This fits extremely nice, don't see any reason to change the design of it at this point. It works with 19-20mm worth of washers/spacers.

I just still feel like the left to right movement is so close. I'm going to run it and see if I get used to it, but man just seems like miss-shifts waiting to happen.

Sorry for the picture quality. I did this quick over lunch, and just snapped pics with my phone quick. Some of em turned out really blurry.

Fantastic, hopefully you can get used to it, when I came up with that design I was just thinking about getting it to 32" not how well it shifts =(
