'92 SC300 resurrection
Hello all!
I'm still early into my build but I figured I might as well start the thread early and while waiting on parts.
The car is a '92 SC300 with 230k that I picked up without an engine or transmission, front bumper and some brake components for $850 cash. I could have gotten something a little more pricey at 4k and go NA-T but i decided I wanted to build it from the ground up, albeit kinda slowly until the money comes in (going to need a lot of it)
As for now, the goal is to get it running with hopefully 380whp on the VVTI 2jzgte. However, anything that I do to it will be to prep it for the end goal of almost 1000hp with pump +methanol +nitrous. My last toy was a 530hp 06 CTS-V so I dont want a huge and laggy turbo and would prefer a little push from the juice.
The current list of things ordered/bought is:
$850 92 SC300
$1900 2jzgte VVTI, MAF, igniter
$3000 t56 magnum rated at 700lb of torque
$120 walbro 485 fuel pump
$1600 wheels/tires (265/295)
$900 widebody kit (extreme dynamics, going to be a HUGE PITA to get to work, probably will take 9 days off work to install)
$1000 harbor freight TIG welder and accessories (because, why not)
will eventually go for a full rebuild with new rows, pistons, cams, single turbo t67 ball bearing, methanol, nitrous, suspension, refinish interior.
Next big ticket item to order is the $2600 bellhousing/clutch kit to get the t56 to work, then eventually an LSD and much higher gears later on

Hey off to a great start! Don't you think the T67 is gonna choke out before the 1k HP goal? I know there are different names people throw around like GT37R or T67R but either way. If I'm not mistaken that's going to be at its absolute MAX range at 1k hp..

Thasks for the compliments. The tig works pretty good, I'm still learning so my welds aren't great but it's definitely better than a mig or Flux set up. It's DC only so it cant weld aluminum.
A 67mm will definitely run out before 1k. I don't want a huge, huge turbo with a lot of lag so I'm going with the 67 and will use nitrous for the rest for anti-lag on a meqasquirt with a second fuel/timing map

Havent done much work lately, I went to a junkyard last weekend to get some stuff. I scored an sc400 stock spoiler and front brakes, plus some stuff to fill some gaps. The previous owner bought the car just for the engine and some parts here and there, so I have to buy those parts and the ones he broke to get to them. FYI, the entire park brake system isnt fun to put together from nothing at all. Taking it apart and putting it back together might be ok, but doing it blindly is a pain.
Anyways, heres some pics of stuff.
The color I decided on " Satin white pearl:
Test Fitting the widebody bumper
All new rear brakes and painted calipers:
Passive keyless entry with push button/remote start
Rear sump oil pan kit (my car didnt come with an engine womp womp
The $3000 one thousand *****s-powers transmission.
