is using a MT with a 2GRFSE going to cause you any headaches with the ecu?

No, my goal for this is for it to drive like stock, so stock-type (TSB updated rubber-dampened) clutch disc with just the heavier pressure plate.

I am going to be experimenting with a larger clutch disc, but don't fully expect it to fit. If it can fit it will give me a higher torque rating, but it's not required.

Hey Jeff,

This conversion has been done over on the Australian forums:

Build: http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums...50-conversion/
More video/pictures: http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums...-manual-trans/

If you get stuck I'm sure the guys there would be happy to help as well. All the best!

Yeah I saw the stuff over there, thanks for the links.

I think I've thought everything through, but you never know what you might have missed I suppose!

Pulling the 4GR today I hope, then can start swapping parts around.

Holy hell ! I never knew it was possible. Now I have something to look forward to once i get bored of the auto box.

I wonder is he can give us a detailed review in comparison to the auto. Does it make the car faster ?

I would not expect the car to be any quicker, the auto can shift pretty quickly.

Still, I expect it to be a lot more fun! (I find my 6MT IS250 more fun to drive than an AT IS350 though).

Do you have to get the hole dash out?I saw the Australian did.He had a 06 and swapped a 11 350 engine.Do you think he used the VDIM from the wrecked IS350 or not?I m in the same position and I really like to know that for sure. Please let me now if you find that out during the swap
