LS400 Build Thread
*** Going back later to add dates ***
I purchased my 1995 Lexus LS400 in May 2015 as a daily driver to comfortably take me to work every day during the summer. Little did I know I was stumbling into a whole new world of car owner ship.
The car was purchased with 166k miles, from Gwinnett, GA, sold to me buy an old black man named Pascal. He had owned it since 2001, and only put 40k miles on it. Before I purchased the car, (that November) Pascal had the timing belt, water pump, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, and intake manifold gasket replaced. Then, in January, he put on new tires and brake pads and rotors. The car was extremely well taken care of. Here are pictures on the day of purchase.

*************************************************************************************
Soon after, I started my summer program for Hyundai in Montgomery, AL. I drove an hour round trip every day to work to afford parts for the car. Over the summer, I began to accumulate parts to put on it. BC coilovers, with 18k/16k springs, godspeed rear camber and toe arms, serial 9 NRCAs, new rear sway bar end links, ESR SR04 wheels, and tires for them. As well as those parts, I purchased a pioneer double din, clear turn signals, dope crystal shift ****, and a rear trunk lip. Here’s pictures taken during the install.

*************************************************************************************
After a week of the car being down, I took it to be aligned at Gray’s tire in Wetumpka, AL (which is the worst place ever, but only place within 50 miles that is lowered car friendly -- $130 for alignment and they wouldn’t even look into it after it started pulling to the right in 3 days). Next, I went and had the exhaust work done. Full straight pipe except for a single straight through tube style muffler down the middle where it goes from 2 to 1 to 2 again, with turndowns just in front of the wheels underneath the car. Classy. Then I drove it down to auburn to go back to school. While back down in auburn, I purchased and installed new JDM corner lights and tail lights, junction produce pillows and b pillar trim, new front windshield banner vinyl. Here’s pictures of these things installed.

*************************************************************************************
Finally, to catch up to recent events, someone in my apartment complex backed into the driver rear quarter panel. Which really sucks. $2870 worth of damage to a car I only paid $3000 for. Lo and behold, Progressive uses NADA values, which puts my car at $7500 in value. So the car will be finished with being fixed here soon (ETA 10/14/15). Here’s pictures of the damage.

Default UPDATE v2

Alright, time to fill in the blanks. So, got the car back on 10/18 or 19 from the shop on fixing the QP. And right around November 18, the SAME quarter panel got hit again in the same spot of my apartment complex parking lot. UGH. So, I decided to hell with it, let’s do it big.

2 days before it got hit on the 18th, I sold my S13 240SX for $5300, so I dumped all that fat cash on the Lexus. I bought:
Junction Produce Destiny kit which included:
Front bumper
Rear bumper
Side skirts
Fog lights which I wrapped in dragon laminex and installed 3000k hid’s
Weds Cerberus 2
19x10 +23 with Yokohama S Drive 225/35/19
19x11 +11 with Federal 595SS 245/35
Kept alignment at -7 front/-8.5 rear
Used front spacer to clear brakes so effectively +11 front offset
Brave badgeless grill
And…. A 326 power wing LOL (deal with it)
Switched up the pin stripes to silver double lines since old stuff was wonky and peeling.

First 25 feet of driving the car with the new front bumper, I cracked it. So bags will come soon. Alarm and exhaust are first though. I can rock stock bumper when around town for now. I’ll attach some pictures. Excited to have the kit in the states, apparently it’s really rare. The wing isn’t on quite yet.

What are the specs on the ESRs and what size tires are you running on them and did they clear the brakes or need spacers? Looks sooo good. Also where'd you get the trunk lip spoiler?

19x9.5 +22 and 10.5 +22 with 15mm front and rear spacer. Have -7 and -8.5 degrees. NRCA's from S9 and LCA's and toe arm godspeed arm combo.

Edit: 225/35 Federal 595SS and 245/35 Goldway something

Default Picture Dump Round 2

This covers everything from hit #2 to after paint with no wing, and broken bumper.

Another update not pictured: wing installed on trunk, trunk installed on car. Sits a little far forward. Bumper fixed, going on only for show trips. It will break too easy otherwise. Decided on static. Buying little things from now on. Viper alarm is being installed tomorrow. Ordered a nardi steering wheel and HKS OT-156B hub (will maybe do a write up confirming 95-97 LS400 use with this hub to keep cruise).

Probably the most amount of times i've forgotten to full respond to questions: i needed a 15mm bolt on to clear front brakes. Trunk lip spoiler was $32 shipped already color matched on ebay.

Ha-ha it's all good. You have legit done all of the **** I've got planned all the way down to the chameleon fog tint except I'm staying stock body on my 98. I've been eyeballing the polished ESRs for a minute just hadn't had the time to call and see if they clear big brakes, so thanks for that. Got the specific link on the spoiler? All I was finding was generic stuff.

I took a picture of this vehicle back in like 2015. I was visiting family in Union Springs and swung over to Montgomery to catch a movie or something. I saw this and drove over to the plaza where it was parked. My wife thought I was a dweeb. I'll post it at some point...maybe.
