Default New Member - No airbag deployment

My lovely IS250 had a bad front end collision and the driver side airbag didn't deploy. Is this normal? So sad...Attachment 364701

Was someone in the passenger seat? There is soooo much safety technology built into these cars with a number of impact sensors AND other sensors measuring speed/yaw rate/ etc that take everything into consideration during a crash you are always left wondering in an ordeal like this.

Never like to see this, but can we assume everyone made it out alive and walking? How'd the under-dash knee airbags work out for you?

No one else was in the car and NO airbags deployed, none! Everyone is fine, thank goodness, but with a front end crash like that, shouldn't they deploy?

Sorry, mis-read; somehow thought you had said the passenger side airbag didn't deploy. So was it a straight-on front end to front end collision or was the initial impact on the side or off-center on your car? Had the gauge cluster previously been displaying any error codes?

It was a straight front end crash. The side wasn't hit. No gauges displayed. The car had very low miles and was in excellent condition.

What type of vehicle hit you? What can happen is the portion of the vehicle that hit your front end might have been of a higher ground clearance, so it avoided hitting your impact sensors.

I wasn't driving, my older son was, so he murdered my car! He broadsided a GMC Yukon and was definitely moving!
