what is the number your shooting for? are you looking at getting into the 10's or are you happy with where its at?
The car is already as fast as I want it on a street tire. I am hoping to break into the 10's on these street tires, but it looks like it may not be possible with my current setup and power. On a drag radial, I would be happy with a 10.1-10.2 quarter if the trans holds up. My local track (35mins away) is very picky with Safety. It only takes one pass faster than 11.48 and they most likely wont let me run anymore. I turn the boost down for my local track and turn it up for the next closest track ( 2hrs away). The track 2 hours away is very lenient about safety, so I can generally get away with running 10's without a cage.
If I decide to want to go faster, I will just build my other Sc300 that is already Certified for 8.50Et's. But the purpose of this car is not to have a cage at all and it will stay as such.
Wow impressive and on a 225mm tire. So in the dyno video, you are 50% throttle, gear in drive, until the trans shift to 3rd then you go wot and let off before 4th gear?? Is that the best way to dyno the car? Or can you just put the gear selector in 3rd? I apologize for the stupid questions. Also, Ive heard the is300 a340 transmission pan holds more fluid, and the pump flows more, any truth to this?
And I cant really tell in the vids for some reason i cant get the sound to work, but do you hit 4th gear at all on the track? I read a while back on supra forums that its hard on the od clutches if powered through 4th? Thanks Lawrence.
The gear selector is in 3rd gear, at 2,000rpm I hold throttle at 50% or less. At around 5,000-5,500rpm I roll into full throttle and complete the dyno pull. This is the best way that I have found.
The is300 pan is deeper and is preferred for its extra capacity. I cannot speak about the pump being better as I have no data about that.
I drag race the car in "D3" so it will not shift to 4th gear as I have heard that the trans will not take it. I may just try and let it shift at lower power to see what happens.
Nice build! I'm thinking of using the same manifold on my GE sc300. Did you have fitment or issues putting it on the SC?
I have used this manifold on the SC chassis and now building a GS with the same manifold. Both cars, the turbo fitment is perfect. The wastegate runner needs to be ported, but that's the same with all the cast manifolds. Also the exhaust bolt pattern is a bit off and most of the holes need to be enlarged for it to fit as well as cut about 1/4" off the studs.
Just got back from the track and the trans has yet to fail. Focused the day on dialing in the 60 foot and 1/8th mile ET. Went a best of 7.34@105. Hit the brakes hard and went through the traps at 11.34@102. Still on the 225 all season tires.

1.90's are great on street tires, are you running a lower PSI at the track? My best ever on my stock Tiger Paws was a 2.0001 for a 13.3 @102... You've got some solid times man! Keep it up.

Thanks! I dropped the rear tire pressure from 35 psi to 25 psi. Still need to perform a drag race alignment. I will keep updating this thread with my results.
Hey Lawrence, so to use the Aristo trans in an 98+ sc300, you just swap out the valvebody? What about the harness plugs, they fit the Aristo trans no problem? I was reading the soarer auto has more clutches and can handle more power, Im going to find out more info, I might try that trans.

Yes exactly. Just swap valve bodies along with the PRNDL switch and you are good. I would recommend going into the valve body and drilling out the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. Also shim the accumulators or install a shift kit.
Just got back from the track. Since the car on E85 is currently running too fast for my current safety equipment. I decided to put 91 octane in the car car and work on the pump gas tune a bit. I was suprised at the results. Car went high 11's at 119mph.
