Xs-power new is300 sc300 supra na turbo kit review and install 2014
Hey I am building my 02 5spd is300 mainly to have a quick reliable daily. I just bought a XSPOWER turbo kit and I have to say looking good.
XSPower t4 T61 turbo:
The turbo is perfect size I think for my goals. However about the turbo's quality the turbine is solid no play or rubbing.
XSPower turbo manifold:
The manifold looks well put together the welds are solid and great supports.
XSPower intercooler:
It is a double core front facing intercooler welds looking good.
XSPower downpipe:
The main thing that really got me excited is that the dp came with the 2 o2 sensor bungs and a a/f gauge bung so I don't have to worry about getting it welded. As well as v band clamps.
XSPower Wastegate:
The waste gate looks exactly as the HKS one and seems to be pretty good quality.
XSPower BOV:
It is a Greddy replica that also seems to be pretty good quality.
Osidetiger custom 660cc injectors:
These are genuine Bosch remanufactured with a one year warranty and guarantee.
The kit came with everything I need to install.
So far I am really impressed with the xspower kit and their customer service is great, it is at a great price, and good quality can't wait to install.
INSTALL
The xs power kit had all the parts I need to make this install in one weekend.
Turbo Manifold install I had to move the brake lines slightly just makes sure the turbo doesn't rest on on them.
Turbo install, I found it easier to install the turbo and the manifold together and then putting on the engine because those bolts on the turbo are in tight places.
Intercooler install, the intercooler brackets are installed on the inside of the crash bar just loosen the nut, put the bracket on and on the intercooler, then tight it all down.
Oil feed line, The feed line I ran to the oil pressure switch where I teed it off one side with the pressure switch and one side with the fitting for line then the feed line.
(I forgot to Teflon tape that's why I have a little drip)
Oil Return line, I took off my oil pan and drilled where the oil return would be on the gte motor (indentations are there). To do this everyone said to drop the sub frame, but I found a new way. Loosen the motor mounts make sure to leave a couple of threads so they don't pop out the holes otherwise you are going to have fun getting them back in. Then use like a piece of wood so there isn't metal to metal contact and jack up the upper pan in between the tranny and sub frame. Then remove the bolts holding the pan in and voila.
Down pipe install, to install the down pipe I found it easier to run it up thru the bottom you will probably need help with this have someone hold the down pipe in place while you tighten the v-band on the turbo. I would install the O2 sensors first before putting it in. Once, you finish you should take your car to a exhaust shop and either weld on a v-band or weld it all together, but if you do that you wont be able to get it out if you need to.
All that's left is to do all the plumbing, add some oil and your good to go. For oil my tuner recommended that I use 10w-40 Synthetic.
Here is a video of first start.
I am going to dyno soon and will post a video.
XS power kit has really surprised me for the price. I have been driving for about 4 months now no problem. I just did an oil change and no metal shavings whats so ever. If looking for a good cheap kit look at this one you won't be disappointed.

After tuning it will be right about 3-4k not bad. I am going with the FIC. I said get the dp welded cause I was assuming you would be running a custom 3" but it does look like it bolts to factory exhaust.

I just ordered one
This is the new one. Feel free to pm me with questions
As some of you may know I'm currently underway in my 02 Sportcross turbo build. After researching my options and talking with a few companies I decided to go with the XS Power kit. I actually got to speak with the owner of XS Power and he told me they are rolling out a new design for 2016 and he would let me be the first to receive it.
I ordered the kit and it took just 4 days to receive it. Today i got it and I have to say I'm impressed.
First lets talk about the manifold. Every single weld is spot on each exhaust port is extremely clean, the T4 mount and collector welds are better than my last SRT manifold and its just freaking beautiful to look at.
The downpipe is the same way. It has 3 o2 bungs which is the same as most so you can support your B1S1 B2S1 and wideband sensor. Again welds are perfect and its heavy duty just like the manifold. It features a slight kick to better clear the firewall as well. My previous kit years ago from a different company was always close and I didn't much like that. The pipe is 3" features a v-band for the turbo and 2 bolt to complete the rest of the system.
The best part which I though would have needed ordering is it came with all of the necessary feed lines, fittings, vacuum lines, gaskets, hardwear, manifold and turbo studs, and even the oil feed adapter for the block.
The BOV is a RS style to the Tial style. I used to have a RS on old kit and I gotta say this looks the exact same. Quality is on point and love the v-band. Wastegate is a 4 bolt HKS style and seems good quality as well.
Turbo is a T4 styled after a Garrett GT35. Its oil feed only and has a ar of Compressor wheel (Front) is a AR of.60 and the exhaust side is a AR of .84. Full spool should be right at 3k. I also opted for the turbo blanket which is very nice.
The intercooler kit couldn't be better. The intercooler is nice and big but not so big that its gonna creat pressure drop. The hot side piping is 2.5 and the cold side is 2.75 which is the same as the stock intake tube so it will be perfect for the MAF readings since nothing is changing.
All in all Im impressed.
If you guys need anything or have questions let me know ill try to help. I hope this post helps others that want to boost but not go crazy in power and price. I plan to roll 8-10psi daily which this will have no problem at all doing
Fuel system and management is all thats left when you buy this kit.
