Default 1998 fully loaded GS400 Restoration/Build PIC HEAVY!

THE STORY: I had just sold my IS300 and was looking for another GS. I saw this one for sale for a very good price.

A day later I had picked up the car. It seemed to be fairly clean. 2 days later I ran the
CARFAX and saw that the odometer had been swapped out and calculated that it had closer to
200k instead of 118k should've checked it before getting the car lesson learned.

Anyway, after pulling myself together I put the car up for sale but no one wants to buy this RWD beast right as winter starts so here we are.

Known issues:
Ball joints are creaking
Suspension is noisy (getting coil overs)
Surface rust on bottom of car (going to sand and paint because im ****)
ABS/VSC light on
Mileage I want to eventually swap for a lower mileage engine.

Overall, this is a financial mistake especially for a student but here we go

Default Day 1 and 2

Well she needed an oil change so I took her in since I don't the tools yet.

Picked up an air filter on the way home and installed it.

I had to fix the heat on the winter beater so the GS had to sit in the first snowfall of the year. EWWW salty roads

Lol it's the complete opposite way in here. When the snow starts to come down the RWD car sales goes up.

Sorry to hear about your mileage fraud. That sucks *****.

You're a nice guy... if I had noticed that someone had tampered with the ODO I'd have been going after them for fraud.

Ditto.

I was looking at Infiniti M45's before I bought my GS. I found the exact car I wanted (down to the cooled seats option and color combo) for the right price just a short drive from me. Odometer showed 146,000 and some change. Contacted the seller, got the VIN, ran CarFax and the last reported mileage at an Infiniti service center was over 280,000. No thanks!

Sucks that you were tricked, however, there are a LOT of GS's running around at 200k+ that are perfectly fine, and you got the best interior/exterior color combo there is. Best of luck with the project!

Yeah, I tried going after the guy but I count do anything since the person that changed it was an owner before him. so all he really has to do is say he doesn't know.
