Looking for resonator delete 98-00 LS400 sound videos
I have been daily driving my 99 LS400 with no mufflers, just cats and center resonator for about 3 months.
Now I want to hear how would removing the resonator sound like. I like the current sound I have but I want the low end frequency sound to be louder.
I can see many 90-94 LS400 straight pipe videos, a few 95-97 also. Very few 98-00 model showing the results.
The problem is so many people don't really specifically tell which part of the exhaust have been modified.
To be clear, the blue square is the resonator.
That resonator is still in place on my car.

And the orange squares are the mufflers. Those mufflers are gone on my car.

If anyone still have the catalytic converters, no resonator and no mufflers, I would love to hear that.
I am just going to post a little cold start clip from inside the car, sunroof open, so you can see and hear what removing 4 mufflers do to the LS400 cabin sound.

And this is inside a tunnel so the echo gets inside the car, since while driving the sound volume of the engine is not high enough compared to wind and road noise.

I was thinking if cutting off the rear mufflers..supposedly gets this sound

after removing 4 mufflers the sound is really good but you can only hear it above other cars under acceleration.
What type?

It has been decided. I will remove the resonator this friday and use the car during the weekend to see if I can live with it.
I am sure between the narrow streets of Europe its going to be amazing. And the neighbors will love it for sure.

The difference is insane.
The sound pressure inside the car is quite high between 1200 to 2200rpm.
Beyond that it smoothly changes into a high pitch sound and on highway speeds its pretty livable.
The sunroof its open on the onboard video, so you get an idea of the sound.
Use headphones if possible. I have recorded the sound with a good stereo microphone.
By the way, the speedometer shows 30kph less than the real speed.

Cold start comparison.
Resonator on.
Resonator off
Its not parked exactly in the same place and the sunroof its open on the first video, closed in the second one.
I will make a proper comparison as soon as possible all things equal.

It's very useful when driving and parking on the very narrow streets with close traffic in Europe.
