Default My 2jzgte Driftmotion 60-1 Turbo Build

Since I got this SC about a year ago I was contemplating between the 1jz swap, the na-t build, or the 2jz swap.

I went out last week and purchased an Aristo 2jzgte non vvti motor. I'm not sure what made me pick the 2j swap but I'm happy with my decision. The shop I bought it from is in Orlando, Fl which was about an hour drive from me. The shop was called JDM Express and to be honest I'd never heard of them. But they just so happened to get the engine I needed the day I called.

From my hours of research, practically everyone recommended doing the single turbo upgrade while the engine is out of the car. Being a college student I wanted the best bang for my buck. So I called up Aaron at Driftmotion yesterday and he helped me piece together a kit. I was skeptical at first about driftmotion turbos, manifolds, etc... But Aaron seemed confident in his product and most people on the supra and lexus forums had nothing but great things to say. So I guees we'll just have to see how it holds up! Needless to say I started ordering all my parts last night.

I think the main and most important thing you are missing here is engine management.

Stock aristo auto trans, injectors and ecu for now. Only running 12-14 psi. I'm looking to make 425-450 hp

You are not going to be able to run the 440 jdm injectors safely, on pump gas, if you want to make over 400hp. Maybe some USDM ones would be OK. Good luck with the build!

Default Update

Since the swap I've put about 8k miles on the car. Still running great on 19 psi. Unfortunately I don't have any solid numbers on hp. (350-400) Although i do commend driftmotion because their turbo kit is doing much better than i was anticipating. I will be sure to update once more miles have been put on the motor.

Some other key parts I got:
Greddy bcc (sw20)
Hks dli (jza80)
Tein SS coilovers
Megan racing traction rods

My plans for the future include:
Mk4 LSD+ds
R154 swap
Ls400 bbk
Bigger injectors (?? Size)

Also, I've got a set of rpf1's and a sc400 oem lip put on for looks. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but you get the point. Still plenty too come!

P.s. I post a lot of updates on Instagram about my car. @jesh_whatsa2jz

Nice build so far! Started following you on IG as well. Time for a 5 or 6 speed swap and a standalone
