Note that I have not attempted to fire it up yet. A little nervous like I always am. Will do today though!

Hey all, been seriously slacking on updates. Been having some issues. Got the used V-2 S trim mounted onto the car and the coil on plug setup going with the AEM box. The engine was missing quite a bit between about 2800-3000 rpm, perfect everywhere else. Suspect the AEM box. Currently in the process of wiring in some Bosch ignitors to eliminate the AEM box and confirm that it is the issue. This will put me back to an inductive ignition setup but that's fine, for now at least, as long as the miss is gone.

I actually now have the brand new V-2 Si trim on the car. Have not been able to fire it up yet due to my ignition problems but won't be long assuming the Bosch ignitors work out. I tried using 4 factory ignitors, each one grounding two coils, but the car wouldn't start.

Trying my best to take as much info down for a future write up.

Also the other day I dumped all the oil out of the engine twice. My feed line failed on the supercharger side and like a dumbass I repaired the one side then the other side went. Engine is fine thank God but it was a bad car day.

Also, YouTube vid. This is with the used supercharger and the COP with the AEM box setup. Will take a new vid if I get it running tonight.

Some random pics atttatched.

great work! I really want to see the numbers this thing produces.

and as far as the lack of posts, maybe its cause your still on the automatic transmission?

or overall people are only excited about the 2JZGTE that everyone has done 20 times over.

I have a sc400 rebuilding the engine stock . now that I seen ur ride I want to upgrade the engine do you know if the racing cams are legal in California . again great job on the 1-F 4.0 not allot of people take interest on this engine I was going to upgrade at 1st but most of the community discourage me but now that I found your post you inspire me to continue with my project.

oscarcst, I guarantee you the Kelford cams are not legal in California, sorry. Even for 2JZ's (GE and GTE) there aren't any "legal" cams other than stock USDMs. But since upgraded cams in any engine are hidden inside the valve covers the visual inspection would not be of concern (unless your car has a ridiculously lopey idle befitting a big block Hemi race engine that would raise eyebrows at the mere sound of it). How the cams might change your CA smog test numbers is what would potentially get you.

Any supercharger or other "non stock" looking equipment in the engine bay would get you flagged unless each of those items have a CARB E.O. number. Unfortunate but true. Stock engine configurations of all kinds or CARB approved parts for your make, model and specific year are the only 100% "legal" power adders in CA. W58 M/T swaps onto stock 1UZ's seem to have been a gray area in California in the last few years but I cannot confirm that being 100% allowed either when you get your car tested every two years-- often that is done with 1UZ-FE V8's swapped into pre-1976 Toyotas or other vehicles.

KC95SC400's setup is pretty cool though! I wish he'd posted more videos.
