If you´re bored some time, you could Always drop the oil pan and Clean the oil strainer.
The grid was 60-70% clogged, so I´m glad I took a look. Some sludge in the pan, but not to bad, considering how it looked under the valve covers.
I used a thin needle to open up every single hole in the grid, and then I rinsed it with water and degreaser.
Time consuming, but buying a new one would be cheating, right?

love too see another Euro build
big compliment on the work you have done so far , its for us euro's not easy to get parts , always those high shipping's cost and custom tax
really interesting to see a BMW tranny swap , so much easier to get it here in Europe
keep us posted !

Thank you chaps for the kind words!
Sc400NL : I concur. It´s kind of tricky sometimes to work with these cars here in Europe. I´d love to be able to just go to the junkyard ,looking for spares, but that´s no Point.
Some Soarer parts can be found in England though.
PS: I bought this SC in Roosendaal, outside Rotterdam, Holland
JesLet: The BMW Tranny was manufactured by ZF

Hi Guys
Back from vacation, and eager to proceed with the build. An unusually warm summer in Northern Europé this year. +32C (+90 F) in Stockholm today.
Anyways, Started last week, with installing the oil strainer and oil pan after the Clean up.

The next thing on my to do-list is harness extension, and here I would really appreciate some input whether my plans are ok or not
When you do a search on this, you end up with some contradictory information. In some threads they "just extend the body plugs". In other threads they do various modifications (tach, temp, neutral safe, check Engine light). Differences on this between the year models, and the different variants of the soarer/SC makes my brain hurt. I do have the soarer bible (and the sc 300 workshop manual (-93), but wiring diagrams in japanese is´nt exactly helping me.
This was a good thread though that I found on this subject:

Here´s a Picture of my 2jz harness (Manual sc300,-94, no trac)
with 5 body plugs:
IK1 (orange) (CI1 in the soarer manual)
IK2 (White) (CI2 " " " " )
IE2 (grey) (CF2 " " " " ) (called IJ2 in some threads,)
? (White) (CH1" " " " )
? Grey (CF1" " " " )

And here´s the connectors on the 1jz harness (soarer,2nd gen 1jz ,auto, unknown year)
8 body plugs:
IK1/CI1 (orange)
IK2/CI2 (White)
IE2/CF2 (grey)
?/CF1 (grey)
?/CH1 (White)
+
1White 16 pin connector (A26?)
2 grey connectors seen below the ECU in the Picture
I Think/hope that the 3 extra connectors on this harness is for the ABS/TRC-computer. Since my SC does´nt have traction Control and already has the ABS plugs connected from start, I plan to just skip these , and just extend the 5 other plugs.
I presume that I will have to do the following as well (correct me if I´m wrong):
1)Extend the plug to the Power steering unit under the motor.
2) Tach fix behind the instrument panel
3) temp fix
4) check Engine light fix
5) neutral safe fix (since this is a auto to manual swap)
Anything I have missed when it comes to the wiring?

Started off with the loom-extension yesterday.
Kind of tedious, but adding some gin and tonic made it bearable.
My wife was kind enough to lend me her hair dryer for the heat shrink.
Extending 25 inches (63 cm) , just to be on the safe side.
2 of 8 body plugs finished
