Being deployed and overseas helped. I just never felt like the car is worthy, even now. I'm a bit of a wheel collector haha.

I feel bad about not having anything to update for like 6 months. I've been busy post Army life with a new business start-up, and just life in general. Still have the car; still boosted and bagged running strong as ever. No longer my daily driver so eventually it's getting more of a showroom floor treatment...

In Aug I moved back to Florida, where it's much nicer cruising weather compared to NY, and tons more sand and beaches!

Chance cruise through Orlando next to this beauty:

How many can say they got to race against one of these?

ps don't street race. It's illegal.
pps I ate my "pretzel".

Good ole' Cocoa Beach, huh? I graduated from Cocoa Beach HS and my parents ended up settling down after my father retired at Patrick AFB. I'm usually back there once a year or so visiting. Seriously miss the weather...

Some of you may recognize this hood from a build here. After seeing it on Jessie's car I knew I had to pick one up. So when he put it up for sale I jumped on it, and a week later made the 3,000 mile round trip to pick it up from Mi to South Florida. Car drove wonderfully, and Jessie is a super cool dude!

So here it is upon arrival home in Michigan:

The stock grille didn't quite fit, but since I'm in college for collision technology, I've got time and space to sort it all. Here's where I'm at as of today. Grille fit up and latch aligned properly:

Still some work to do before paint. I'm not in a rush so updates will come slow. Also got something else in the works, but won't be for a few months still

Man you are dedicated. I couldn't see myself driving 3000 miles for a hood. I know its big but It cost that much to ship?

Shipping would've been a pain. Also I've been wanting to get outta Michigan for a while and visit family back home in Fl. The car is a blast cruising on the highway, and I'm not afraid to drive the crap out of it! One of my plans next summer is a road trip to Alaska- after that only a couple states left in the lower 48 I haven't driven to.

Haha didn’t know you were on here but I’m glad you made it back safely and thanks for the business.

And just like the other guys mentioned I can’t believe you drove all the way from MI to FL and back to MI with no problems….thats one good turbo !!!!

For all those asking the hood is very lite but shipping would be a lot because of the size so picking it up was the better option.

Started on the fun part of smoothing out the hood. There are a number of imperfections to work out, and I can totally understand why Jessie wanted to go another route. I've got the time and means to do this myself, so not at all a big deal... It's fiberglass- you almost always have to put in work.

Also, I don't think I got into all the issues I had regarding my vented fenders. It's a lengthy story, so I'll save it for when I dig back into that part of the car again (with pics!). At any rate, I'm putting some new hinges on the hood, which were primer / black cherry overspray, so in-between filler work we laid some color on them

I've been procrastinating for some time with working on the car, partly for this reason. It always looks worse before it can get better. Well... no turning back now!
