#RESURRECT!

Sup all, took a vacation between holidays and i'm now back plowing through my build. The cylinder head is @ the shop now to be resurfaced (as needed), cleaned and i'm getting a valve job done. When it comes back I should be able to slap that sucker onto the block.

I'll be posting my build objectives + math for the compression ratios and turbo sizing over the next couple days for your review and feedback.

The 350/370Z transmission thing is still active. Ordering the adapter plate this week or next. Once i have that I guess i'm all in...

What's the difference between the 350 and 370Z transmissions?

The 370Z was released in 2009 and it's transmission incorporates SynchoRev matching. Other than that, based on the factory service manual and parts breakdown they're the same. There was a synchro issue w/ the CD004 versions (only in the 350Z, G37s come with the CD004 transmission but have the synchro issue fixed...) but the CD009 release of the transmission fixed the issue. This is from memory so correct me if you find out otherwise.

So this build is actually moving again

Finishing up small block this weekend with the installation of new water pump, oil pump, undercut ARP studs and rebuilt cylinder head.

Running into a little confusion regarding selecting the proper head gasket. Started a thread here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...40#post8547140

Please feel free to chime in if you have any info.

To sum the issue up, I need to know which head gasket to use for my GE head and combustion chamber (but I have gte pistons). Also curious as to whether or not I can get an OEM replacement like the one that came shipped with my Evergreen gasket kit.

Default Big Update

Here's a snapshot of what's getting installed this weekend + new toys.

Another shoutout to ALISC3 and 8052JZ for their help in getting to the bottom of the head gasket selection. Thanks to everyone who's supported the thread thus far. We're back in production.

The old man come down to give me a hand. I've been stuck, busy and overwhelmed but not defeated. We march on.

Got the oil / water pump installed. Putting the upper oil pan on tonight and looking for these stupid camshaft gears Might be the time to opt for the upgrade but @ $65 each from Lexus it's not too bad. Probably can be a whole head from the junkyard for less lol...
