My 92 SC300 1JZGTE Single turbo makeover
I recently purchased my 3 rd SC after selling both of my Z32 TT cars on the same day . I had to have a car to drive to work after the weekend so i got on Craigslist and found this 92 Sc 300 with a clean JDM swap ,original 5 speed car was maroon with tan interior ,but after the swap they put a black paint job on it . I flew to Atlanta ,bought the car and drove it home to Kentucky . The paint and interior aren't the greatest but car still looks pretty good as is. I basically bought the car for the low miles 1 JZ and the sweet DD tuned setup . The car is putting out 390 whp on 18 lbs of boost .
The main goal of this post will be to update you guys on mods and progress of my complete interior refurbish in black n tan two tone. Many thanks to all the members who Ive gotten advice 1JZPWRD and parts from many of you .Thanks mark for all the tips on the SEM process and other little bugs i am working out .
First set of pics are the car as it sat when i picked it up form the Supra fanatic guy who bought the car for his not yet 16 year old son lol The dad realized was a bit much for a novice driver and that was the reason for sale . BTW he had 2 sweet MK$ supras 1 NA car and one tricked out 580 hp Veil one with crazy orange paint and 305 series tires it was sick

continued
OK after getting the car home i decided to start digging in to fixing little things like new rubber and brakes small PS leak etc.
i added some 265 35 18 tires n the rear and kept the 240 40 18 in the front . i also upgraded my brakes to drilled and slotted rotors all the way around ,stainless brake lines and a BBK for the front .
next the 4 inch plumbing sewer pipe lol had to go ,so i purchased a 4 inch stainless intake pipe from summit and had to extensively modify it to clear water outlet and fit the 9 ' K& N filter on it .
while all this was going on i injured my ankle at work so the progress came top a grinding halt while i limped around and ended up in a boot for 5 weeks which was crazy annoying . The one thing my injury didnt stop was the spending ,buying parts ,new black oem carpet several black panels for upper trim and lots of SEM for the pieces i was going to paint . I read all of mark 1JZPWRD entire 498 page lol just kidding seemed that long thread of him redoing Jays Sc to black interior . got many tips and through trial n error am figuring this SEM stuff is pretty good as long as you follow the prep instructions .

You are off to a great start man. I appreciate you mentioning my name a couple of times. Means alot. I am glad I could help, if you only knew how many PM's I get a day... j/k. I like the K and N intake filter better than before. I actually need to buy one again, due to mine is bent. Post more ppictures of your build thread so I want have to close it. Lol... nice touch on the center caps. All the little things add up to your personal car.

i managed to be able to do a little bit of work in the garage ,mostly painting interior parts and buying ,buying buying . i am a UPS driver n my wife saw the driver that delivers to our house one aft n said how many times do you come here sir ? He looked at her said like once or twice this month lol , that's a brother for you its more like every other day .
anyway here are more pics of my progress
i am not going to bore you guys with step by step on the interior painting etc ,as many have done it before and with great detail . i am just going to show the progress with pics and continue to update you on new parts and the interior installation
for some reason its not letting me load more pics says missing security token guess doesnt like my thread lol ill add more tomorrow .
also my seats are getting pretty close to being done , they will be mostly tan with the center insert's black and the plastics and the backs will be black also

power steering line replaced and no more leak yes.!!!!!
the taping has begun for painting under hood and all jambs etc . would have been much easier to paint car before the swap instead of after but not my call lol

time out of build for Ky derby party time annual trip to Phoenix hill Derby eve for the Velcro pygmies and the annual Flash bash .!!!! mega derby party usually have between 75 and 100 people but the rain kept us to 65 this year still much o fun gambling , drinking and generally raising hell
if any of you guys are in town for the derby next year hit me up its got to be on your bucket list if you haven't done it

made it through Derby week and its back to work . its depressing to drive around town in a shell with no interior but it will all be worth it some day soon i hope

top part of dash SEM ed didnt like the Classic coat finish as much as Color coat so i called the company and asked them about going over the finished product with color coat to enhance the sheen guy told me no problem just scuff with grey scotchbrite pad and use plastic n leather prep spray first looks great now

OK going to town on this project now have all parts but my door panels finished with SEM i am leaving at least half of my door panel tan but am trying to find some undamaged pockets hint hint if anybody can help a brother out lol
started changing my interior lighting out too ,i put LEDs in my dome and foot well and ignition ring and decided to follow !JZPWRD THREAD AND DO MY CLUSTER MYSELF WITH PARTS FROM SUPERBRIGHTS.COM oops there i go again damn caps lock button
started putting the generic dynomat in also its from eastwood the company i buy all my SEM from its very easy to work with and fairly cheap too
cant start putting any of my interior back together yet because i will be painting all the door jambs and under the hood , tomorrow its all taped up and ready to go
got my IS 300 wheel on had to take off 3 times because didn't have the back of it plastic piece and couldn't figure out why the gap i love it though
also top of dash done so i put back on corner tan piece to see what finished dash will look like i like it i like it !!!!

lots of work n pics
ok i have had my car sitting in the garage for 2 days taped up n ready to paint the jambs ,under hood etc.
my buddy who owns the body shop has a houseboat hes redoing n the crew and him have been working 24?7 on that so i couldn't get my friend who works for him to help me for 1 hour get it done lol . NE way today was a good day ,got the paint done and now after it dries n i put l off all the paper etc i can start putting things back together. My upholstery guy called and my back seat is done and my passenger bucket will be done by Wednesday .
i am stoked about the possibility of putting her back together next week

lots of pics coming after i untape etc . I am starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel ,but putting it sall back together still seems like a daunting task . i have like 5 zip locks full of bolts n screws
