Hi All,

Considering my newest project is one I'm starting from scratch, I thought it would be a good idea to start a build thread. The last project I started from scratch was a Nissan 240sx (S14) that I purchased back when I was 15 (10 years ago now). Since then I've owned/traded a numerous amount cars, including many S13's and S14's, a Crazy NA EK9, and a NA-T SC300. I became of member of this forum back in 2006 to resource parts for my SC. After getting rid of my last 240sx in 2007, I purchased a street bike and a daily driver and decided to take time away from cars to focus on academics and getting my life together. Now that I have a career and some cash flow, I figured it was the perfect time to get back into drifting/building cars. I need some excitement in my life now that corporate america has robbed me of my youth!

So for starters here is my chassis. I found this on craigslist and could not resist. 1992 Lexus SC300, original 5 spd, 174,000 miles, all maintenance records. It was the typical old man babied it, time for me to destroy it type deals.

The little purple marks you see are from the my iphone 5 which has been destroyed.

I always start with suspension so this was my first purchase for my new baby. Shout out to Powered By Max for being super friendly and answering all my questions. Hope to have my knuckles out to them for mods sometime before this year is over.

I have some other goodies that are basic upgrades like poly bushings, stainless brake lines, LS400 calipers (RGW Distributors) and a lot more on the way. Looking to do a 1J with the W58 around 4-450 hp. We'll see how that goes.

u wont be able to do 450 on a w58. you'll blow it up

I did 375 on my NA-T and it ran pretty well. I'm not to worried about blowing up the transmission. Just looking for the higher gearing.

yeaaaaaaaaa 375 and 450 is a BIG difference. your gonna blow up your tranny guaranteed. ur gonna want to go r154

Yea, they are going to grow a little. The offsets a little to weak for what the SC can handle.

save your money, keep your 2jz, and buy an r154.... 450 whp is SUPER easy on NA-T and then you can use that money for an r154

Naawwwice bunch of parts already GL

So last night, I had the great idea of swapping in the coilovers. Going into this I thought it would take 2-3 hours on the ground with air tools. To my surprise, this was nothing like a 1 hour job on a 240. I was planning on taking a whole bunch of pics, but instead I just worked for about 8 hours straight until it was all done. The PBM coilovers are great and I can't complain. Here is a pic from today.

Yup, the coils on my GS300 was difficult compared to some of the cars I've worked on in the past :p

Took me two days (did fronts one day, back another day)

Looks good. Off to a nice start!

Kez, the wheels will be on in a couple days. I wanted to get all new lips/barrels, but that is becoming more costly then expected. I think I will run them the way they are for now and get new lips over the winter.
