Don't worry, that will be installed once the car is completely running without any hiccups on the 5spd swap. Probably going to go with an ISIS unit. They're super nice and high quality, and not that expensive either. Now, I would like to have a locking handbrake for when I have to park the car. I always leave it in gear, but I don't want to have to drive around with a wheel chuck in my trunk or just put it in gear and cross my fingers lol. I considered somehow setting up the hydro brake to lock back for parking use, but I figured that constant pressure on the hydraulic system for a prolonged period of time wouldn't be a very good idea.

Now running a hybrid cable...how would that work?

Yeah I figured it would be too long. I was going to try and loop it around in the rear driver side passenger footwell and run it back up to either side of my seat.

I think by hybrid cable, he means what I have, which is a temporary patch. I have the front SC300 cable cut a few inches short, and the LS400 fitting swaged on. I'm not sure what the design is called for the LS400 cable, or even remember what it looks like to describe it. But the lever doesn't pull the cable far enough to lock it. My project will be on the back burner for a few more months so I can only speculate at this point.

If you measure properly a hybrid cable setup should work fine? :uh:

The cable has tension when the lever is all the way down. But the lever doesn't pull the cable as far as the original parking brake. Who knows, maybe you're right about my measurement. I don't think so, though.

Update #9 1/26/13

So I was trying to find some more photos of clutch pedal's installed on a UCF10 and I stumbled onto this. This guy did a 5spd swap into an early GS300. He had the same problem with the firewall being angled so he rigged up something pretty neat.

That is a MKIV Supra clutch pedal assembly that has been welded to a plate spaced out with some box tubing and bolted to the side of the footwell. Brilliant.

So I went to look at the car today, and realized this is a possibility. I put the fusebox back in, removed the dash beam to get some more visibility and tried some test fitting to get a general idea how it would fit. Toss the gutted e-brake foot bracket back in the car and positioned the pedal assembly next to it. MKIII Supra one was WAY too huge, luckily my buddy had a pedal assembly from one of his old cars in his trunk....thank you sweet jesus, this can actually work. And its from an S13 too haha!!

Grabbed the bracket and the pedal and ran over to my brothers house. I haven't set up my compressor yet, and he has some power tools that I have never had the need to buy yet. I should get on that.

So the idea was to remove a bracket that held a sensor on the pedal assembly, and a second piece on the e-brake bracket that was riveted on so that I could move them closer together. Job successful thanks to some help from my brother.

You can't even begin to comprehend. Laying on the floor looking at all of this upside down, ranting about how STUPID Toyota is for putting everything in these hard plastic routing tube box things that are bolted to everything so I have 0 slack. As soon as I put the bracket on tossed a nut in it to hold it there and lifted the clutch pedal next to it....same feeling as when I broke 100,000 gamerscore LOL.

Good thinking. I'm kicking myself in the ass while reading this. I'm considering copying your setup for the pedal and fuse box, but probably won't because I'm too stubborn and want to make the Toyota pedal work. Nice setup. This is going to get exciting soon now that you have the hard part done.

Nice I knew youd be anle to use that supra clutch assembly. Yea I couldnt imagine relocating the fuse box either.

Thanks man. Gotta give credit to SuprRunner. I borrowed his idea from his GS. And yes you have no idea how excited I am to pull the motor. I have a strange fascination with making things clean. Can't wait to physically clean up the motor and engine bay, and remove all kinds of garbage that I will never need just to cosmetically clean up the bay.

Actually the Supra one was too big :/. The one pictures above is from an S13 :P.

Not really an update, but picked this up last week. Couldn't pass up the deal. $195 free shipping, originally for a MKIV Supra TT and it arrived here on Monday. With the shroud attatched its about 5" at the widest point. The stock setup with a/c condensor and the stock huge pusher fans, clutch fan shroud not counting the centrifugal fan is 11.5". Can't wait for some simplification!!

So I was able to finally get some work in on the car. Been slaving away at VW the last week. Long hours suck, but I got my first sale! Woohoo! Anyway, my brother came through big as I cannot weld whatsoever and helped me almost finish what is the most difficult part of this swap. Here's how today went.

Held up the pedal, made a few marks, ran back to his house and welded in a few spacers.

Went back to the car and noticed this would work, but the pedal say too far back so he cut a notch and bent it up. It worked though we later had to extend the pedal itself by 1 1/4".

Could of absolutely never done this without my brother. Not to find a VW master cylinder that will let me run a remote reservoir and once I get a hole in the firewall to have clearance for it, interior can go back in!
