Got the 5.5" intake pipe done. I may add one more straight piece at the end to extend it a bit closer to the headlight. Getting much better at welding aluminum every time I do a pass. need to clean this up and polish it.

for reference... I don't have very small hands but as you can see, this thing is massive..

thanks and yes I do have a cover. Its actually one of the ebay billet spark plug covers. I need to put in some new plugs and make sure all is good.

Went for a drive last night and got some smoke coming out the exhaust. Need to check a few things to see whats going on. Might be the turbo but not sure.

lol the BW race cover makes the turbo look massive... The smoke smells like oil is burning. I looked around last night and it looks like the return line from the turbo is leaking onto the manifold. I'm going to pull the turbo, inspect and see whats up.

I pulled the plugs out and they all seems to be in good shape. So it has to be something with the turbo. Also, before swapping turbo's I didn't have this problem.

plugs

When I first installed my turbo I had a similar problem....the flange on the bottom of turbo wasnt tight enough and it was dripping onto manifold and burning off...

I initially routed my drain line wrong and it happened to touch the manifold and burnt a whole right through it....I had a huge smoke screen coming from behind the car....

Yea, that's probably whats going on. Ill pull the turbo and replace the gasket on the flange and make sure its on there tight. I hope it that simple lol

Got the smoke thing figured out and now the car is back on the road... just waiting for smog sticker to come in and ill get a few video's. Runs like nothing happened.

I replaced the return flange on the turbo with one that has a bigger opening for better oil flow. Sense the turbo was out I had my buddy look over it and just do a rebuild on it to freshen it all up to insure all the seals and bearings are good to go. Drove the car around for a bit on side roads to make sure no more oil is leaking.
