I redid the intercooler piping on the turbo side for the new s474... and Yes the s474 fits with a 7mgte cps NA-t flw...

Made it a once piece pipe..

Also had to weld a elbow to the turbo.

Love the ability to weld and fabricate everything on my own. Save's alot of time. I've only been Tig welding for about a year so I'm not the best but it will do the job!

ill be more than happy to get outa town LOL just let me know haha

the 4708R is a turbo to fund a motor build or I would use it

Got a few more thing done over the weekend..

Ceramic Coated all the hot parts which came out awesome much better than using any of the silicone ceramic spray paint stuff. worth the effort to do real ceramic coating.

After a fresh spray down..

after being air dried for 24 hours... Forgot to take a pic of the Dp, exhaust housing and the turbo center section.. But I might have to strip it so heat can exit from the turbo rather than be kept in from the coating.

This is what I used for the coating Cerakote ceramic coating and a HF detial spray gun.

Than installed the driftmotion oil cooler kit

Used toggle bolts to secure it to the AC radiator. never had any luck with the plastic zip ties

8052jz, do you back purge your welds for that manifold?
Yes it is back purged. Helps keeps the welds cleaner inside and out. I use the argon/co2 mix for back purge.

Its a Lincoln Tig 225 with a #9 gas lens torch. the #9 torch is much smaller and much easier to manage for tight spots and alot lighter than the #24 torch

#9 is the smaller torch

Here is a pic of the welding setup. My buddy was showing me a few tricks and i snapped a pic while he was welding up the midpipe. You can also see that we are back purging the midpipe with the smaller bottle which is argon/co2 mix.

Nice and thank you... damn those are not cheap . I just looked them up. Six years ago I bought a cheapy Mig Welder from Sears that I use for tack welding... just to hold things in place. Probably used it a couple of times so never learned much yet.

But I guess yours pays for itself with a couple of projects. Rather than getting things welded and pay for it.

So is it good for whatever kind of metal ? aluminum , iron, etc... ? I will look into it more .

thats a sweet setup. those parts came out really nice with the finish as well. I Think you mostly need tig for aluminum, all the other stuff you generally mig together. disclaimer: I am not an expert whatsoever at welding.

Tig welding is best for aluminum, stainless steel and any other metals. When it comes to wanting perfect penetration of the metals, you would use a Tig in most cases. Mig welding is ok but its a rough finish and mostly used for Steel.
