Default Supercharging my 95 Sc400

I知 looking to supercharging my 95 400. She痴 pushing close to 250xxx miles so I know a rebuild is going to be needed, but what else should I be considering? This will be my first build that I知 supercharging. Any advice or pointers are much appreciated!!

Welcome!!

Take a look at the existing hardware and kits that have been developed for the Toyota Z30 Soarer's 1UZ-FE V8 (identical to our SC400's) to get some starting ideas or perhaps an option to consider. Prices are in Australian dollars, so use the currency converter lower on this page:

https://bulletcars.com/superchargers...celsior-crown/

Lextreme is also a great resource for the 1UZ-FE. The stock rods, pistons and rings from the 92-94 1UZ-FE's are the strongest available factory parts but aftermarket internals are stronger.

The Bullet Cars approach, if I recall correctly, uses an Eaton M-90 or M-92 roots supercharger.

If you stay with an automatic you may need to send the stock A340E 4-speed out to be built (ATF is a popular and well known company that builds A340's). If you're wanting to convert to manual with the supercharged build, take a look into the Collins Adapters kit to bolt the Nissan CD009 6-speed to the 1UZ block. I'd suggest a kit to bolt up an R154 or other R-series variant but I'm not finding a lot for that combination.

The most popular manual swap for the SC400 is a kit to bolt a W58 to the 1UZ-FE but with a lot of supercharged torque on the V8 it may be too much for the W58 depending on the state of tune and how much torque it puts out.

Plans are to convert it to manual in the future. So I値l definitely look into the Adapter plates

Honestly man, 1UZ's are so stout. If it doesn't burn oil and has good compression, I'd feel pretty confident about throwing 8-10psi of boost via a supercharger at it without having to worry too much. I'd look into tuning options and an eventual manual swap would make that car absolutely wild.

250k miles may not be too bad if the engine servicing has been kept up. The 1UZ motors are pretty sturdy from the factory.

I致e been looking at programmable ECUs, bigger injectors, and I definitely want to manual swap it down the road. I知 not sure how the well it was maintained by previous owner. I know they put new suspension and exhaust. I知 not very confident in their work though. Suspension still ain稚 right, you値l hit a bump and the whole car try痴 to change lanes on ya

Other than shocks or coilovers, change the steering rack bushings to Figs Engineering polyurethane replacements, inspect and/or replace the front lower control arms with MKIV units and inspect the tie rods, rear control arms and check to see that the swaybar bushings are still in good tight shape.
