Covering Wood
- I was cleaning the garage up a bit and I came across my roll of carbon fiber wrap that I used for my B-pillars. I decided “why not” and started pulling out my door panels and dash, to get all of the wood parts out. I cleaned each wood part with some denatured alcohol, and then proceeded to wrap each piece. It took about an hour to do all seven pieces, and the result is a “wood free” interior.
Wood pieces circa 1994 removed from the car and prepped.
Lots of trimming and soapy water to avoid the dreaded air bubbles!
one hour later, all pieces wrapped and ready for reinstallation.
Closer look at pieces almost look like they are actually made of carbon fiber.
The carbon fiber wrap makes a subtle change on the appearance of the dash.
Closer view of the seat memory switch area.
EDIT: Added wide shot so you can see how it changes the look of the interior I might have to do the center console too.
