Cool My SC600 full build thread

Well first off I have been out of town for work about the past 5 months so most of what you see is pictures I have been sent of the parts stacking up back home and work done so far.

Goal with the car is a well balanced total package. All around function and form street car and one of the best SC's ever built!

Lot's of friends helping along the way especially with a lot of custom parts in the works. Custom mounts, headers, exhaust and lots of other stuff you might have to stay tuned for lol.

Built not bought

Engine is 408 stroked, LSX based, high compression, e85 build and might add dope later on for fun. While I will keep some of the plans low key untill it's done here is a little teaser I will update here and there.

Here is my old setup some might be familiar with:

Worked good for what it was. At least for short periods of time lol

Now on to the REAL build

Right after pulling the 1JZ out I just had to set the mockup motor in to see what it would look like and how it would fit. Keep in mind this is with no mounts in this pic. Big thanks to JTran for giving me some time and space to pull the old engine

Moving to the new home base

Notice the clutter in the engine bay. Can't roll like that

Chassis harness/brake line tuck and ABS/TRAC delete

Wilwood proportioning valve

Keeping the same fuel pump setup as before just cleaned it up. Battery box and battery will be replaced

Racepak dash going to read directly off the AEM

BC coilovers thanks to Autrey at DWS Parts

Plates to build the mounts off of

Beefy 6 speed and twin disc as well as subframe modifying started

Engine parts stacking up back home. Not pictured is stroker crank and rods, ARP rod bolts, Comp valve springs, retainers, shaft mounted rockers, Ferrea valves, top and bottom cometic gaskets, and ARP head studs

and the latest pics from SSA of the machine work and getting ready for paint

Drive shaft adapter on its way with fittings to convert power steering lines to AN

One piece aluminum shaft from a buddy

Ordering my crate engine accessory kit from KRC tomorrow(alt, waterpump, p/s pump, idler, brackets, etc)

Still to do - order wheels, subtle body mods, new paint, and some other goodies you won't be able to see till its done

I had no idea you were going that in depth, very nice. Kind of blew me out of the water there.

im ussualy a fan of Toyota parts going in Toyota cars but these ls engines looks very cool i must admit.

This engine looks great and im still shocked at all the space leftover in the engine bay , especially considering its a 6 litre.

1.5 times bigger then the 1uz but yet has much more available space.

Thanks everyone. Means a lot coming from some of you OG's. Definitely a lot more transformation going to be happening with the car as soon as I get back to town

I think space is a big reason GM has resisted going OHC on their V8s. A pushrod is just SO much more of a compact setup. I can mean you can wedge one of these bad boys in a miata!
