Just got a 97 SC300 non vvti baby!
Hello all, ive jumped from a sc400 (sold), a 98 gs300 (still have with a 1j swap vvti), a 04 gs300 (still have stock, but throttle is messed up), and now i have a 97 sc300! Its got around 160k miles or so i was told (odometer and speedometer doesnt work), CEL is on for misfire on 1 and 2 and vehicle speed sensor (possibly why speedometer doesnt work?). Anyway been researching on turboing it out, but before i do that i want to fix the CEL's of course! So far i have ordered an oil return for future turbo build and i have a cap for it.
I realize this is probably opinion based, but im looking at the log style exhaust manifold and the other popular setup on the ebay manifolds. Aside from different piping, is there a difference? I kinda like the log style...but im open to ideas...

It sounds like you have some issues that you need to handle with that car before turbo. I'm sure you will figure them out, but I would start with a new distributor cap and rotor.
As for the turbo manifold, what are your power goals? Cost for a good cast manifold is less than that of a good tubular (or even an eBay equal length with additional bracing added) manifold. Cast is stronger than tubular. Cast also results in more heat and hotter air travels faster. You will also have much more clearance between the stock throttle body and the exhaust housing. Cast also seems to spool a few hundred RPMs bit faster. I personally run a treadstone manifold and it works great.
