Default My IS250 Build Thread

Hey what's up guys. I have had this IS250 for a few years but it has been my wifes up until now. We just got a 4 Runner as the family car so the IS250 is going to be my new daily driver since my other car is getting some upgrades. The only modifications up to this point where Tein S Tech springs which will be up for sale in a few days. Here is a picture of it as it looks right now.

My other car is a 02 S2000. Makes 560whp and runs pretty good so I don't need the Lexus to be fast just be a very nice daily driver. Here is a picture of my S2000 and a few videos.

So this weekend I started shopping for wheels and could not believe If found these. For a while I kept on going back and forth about what color wheels I would put on the Lexus. I wanted Mag Blue but thought I might get tired of it eventually. I have always put black wheels on my cars. I was dead set on TE37s and found a guy a few hours away selling these wheels.

I know some of you are going to think I'm crazy but yes those are going to be 2 mag blue wheels on one side and 2 diamond black wheels on the other.

Specs are 19x9.5 + 12 up front and 19x10.5 + 22 out back.

Of course I'm super excited so I had to put them next to the car to get a idea of how the color would look.

I also am going to pick up a set of BC Coilovers tomorrow. I have noticed some said I should order them with stiffer spring rates. If that is what most people are doing then what spring rates do you guys suggest. The car is going to be pretty low of course.

I asked on another topic but I'm going to need some help with tire sizes. From what it looks like the most I can go in the front with some fender mods is 225/35 and in the back 265/30. Is that correct?

Do I need to get Megan camber kit?

Other mods will be front lip and flat rear wing. I think that might be it for exterior. If it doesn't look right then I will get the most subtle side skirts and rear lip that I can find.

I will keep this updated as I plan to have the car looking good in the next few weeks. Thanks for looking.

Nice set up you can also go with 245-35 in the rear. But your also still gonna need a roll and pull on the fenders.

Congrats on the purchase and good luck with future mods. How low do you plan to go btw? I have to say, that's a nasty *** S2k you got there. Can't wait to see where this thread goes.

Congrats on your new to you daily. The S2000 is Sick! You may run into some problems with that front wheel size if you want to go low. Roll the fronts and look for the fender tab modification. BCR's are great. Have fun!

Off to a great start. Congrats and the wheels and coils. I think both colors will look great. As for the lip kit. Vertex is one of my favorites. You can also get away with running the gfx rear with the vertex front and sides.

Thanks guys. Yeah I read that there is a bit of work needed especially in the front. We use a pretty good body guy I will just tell him to make all the room he can. I saw that most roll and flatten the fender tabs. Then i'm assuming some modifications to the plastic pieces in there as well.

We will see from searching around it looks like a few people have done it so it is doable. My concern is more the rear tire. I really rather have a 265 out back. Is pulling the fender going to be required?

What about the camber situation.

As far as the lip goes yeah Vertex by far has been the nicest I have seen. Going to price it out and see. To be honest I bought a ebay lip before deciding to go ***** deep into these wheels. this is the lip I got.

Did not look too bad. Then I started searching around and saw the Vertex as well. Not sure how much that one cost though.

Hmm that is not what I was hoping so I guess a fender pull is required then? Then camber and lower ride height?

If that is the before do you have a after modifications picture?

Yeah mods on the fender is a must if you want it to sit rite. No after pix as that member went to a higher offset so that he didnt have to mod his fender.

Pretty cool thread and nice Honda. Hey, do you have a video of your S2000 going 11.2 @131 in the 1/4? I would LOVE to see that. Pretty rare air.

I'm looking at BCR coilovers too, and will probably ask for a 12k/8k setup. Just on stock 18s for now.

Yeah, you'll need all of the fender mods and probably a pull too. Setup will be sick though no doubt!

Glad not I'm not the only one coming from a Honda background. I had 423whp on a 1.6L in a '92 VX hatch.
