SO THIS CAR IS READY TO GO! finished up my motor and installing the headgasket a week ago...just waiting on my harness. Chasebays keeps giving me the run around which i dont appreciate too much. a week ago they told me that my harness was complete but that the shipping department wasnt there and that they would ship my harness out priority mail the following monday. Didnt see the harness at all last week, sent them another email. They told me that my harness is not complete and that they are waiting on some connectors to come in and are behind due to much of asia shutting down on their new years. So im waiting anxiously for this damn harness to come in...its all i need to wrap this up.
heres the motor are freshened up ready to drop in. just missing coilpacks, have to modify the 1zz plate so that all my coilpacks face towards the firewall.
interior is back together and looking much more cleaner!
cleaned up a ton of wiring behind the dash and by the footwell. Once i get the car running, im gonna build a cool custom command center on the center console to house my kenwood deck that was in my previous car and mount my wideband. will probably mount more things in there in the future, just have nothing to add to it atm.
here is my abs delete kit. i had some problems with the kit however...the bolts i received were too long. Long story short, i sheared off the head of one of them it resulted in having to buy another brake master cylinder. good thing they're cheap!
The rear brake line was a little short...but i made it work
and heres the bay currently. Im going to run my harness through the gold plated grommet i have there in the middle. the end result of the grommet didnt quite end up as i wanted...but it should work. I ended up covering the other exposed firewall hole with heat reflective tape...hopefully it does an ok job keeping heat out of the cabin. Should be fine...i couldnt imagine much heat traveling to that side. i think most of the heat is going to be concentrated in the middle
currently working on converting my power steering to braided lines and AN fittings. more to come!

I did something similar. I had a nasty exhaust leak previously when I deleted my heater core. so I could hear every bit of engine noise. also all the heat went through there so it heated up my a/c when I wanted cold, (I live in vegas so I need a/c. lol.) I ended up welding that hole shut and now its back to normal. my build thread is project super cool and slow sc. heres how it looked after welding it shut.
I recently blew my head gasket so now that I took my engine out I am sanding it down, putting on bondo, and painting my whole engine bay flat black. what I did with the hole on the a/c thing was epoxy the hole shut so that a/c doesn't leak out of there, and to keep less hot air in. either way though you took yours out so that's not a problem. the biggest problem that I see with your way is that the road noise will go way up. i'm not sure if your worried about that though. lol. but only time will tell. good luck. love the build by the way.
by the way, heres how I did my abs delete mod too. if interested just click on the picture, it'll take you to photobucket and you can see ll my pics.

cool. well i'm kinda thinking i want my car to be semi show car, like i want my engine bay to look nice, no unnecessary open holes, clean engine bay, shaved, tucked. but i dont want full show because i still want to be able to work on everything and modify more, i know it always becomes a little harder to do some stuff. i also want to time attack it, not to break records, just to have fun. but my biggest goal is daily drive it and be able to race cars and have speeds when i want it to. i'm going for a mixture.

I had the same issue with a chasebays harness and I will never deal with them again.. It took them nearly 8 months for them get my harness done after being paid. Ones received I had plugs missing and some things that where not right. They told me that they didn't send me the "subharness" which is BS. They just didn't want me to send it back to get fixed properly. After that I took a loss of cash going through them on a harness... Tweaked all the way from now on if i plan to have a harness made..

havent updated this build for quite some time. i finally dropped the motor in and got my painted panels back
with work updating their firewall, its made it really hard to update my thread and keep up with the forum. i cant view photobucket pictures anymore so it basically makes going on the forums pointless. Anyways, ive been really busy with the car lately. I finally got the car started and driving! got the car visually ready for the Friday the 13th meet this past weekend
someone snapped a pic with their hi-res camera
car is running exceptionally cool
went to drift and drag on saturday
the night ended on a bad note though because my brakes stopped working :/ air got in the system and i didnt feel safe driving the car home so i left it at a buddies house. had to snap a quick pic of it before i left. took forever to get the car parked in the driveway. living that #lowlife now
hope i didnt overload the page too much lol. theres more updates...but you'll just have to wait and see

hi all. havent posted for a while as well so figured id give a little update. been super busy with the car going through trials and errors and learning from mistakes. ive also upgraded in certain areas of the car quite a bit. it all started with the suspension. a friend of mine began parting out his drift sc and i let him knw that i was incredibly interested with purchasing his suspension set up. not some arms here and there. I WANTED THE WHOLE THING. so we can to an agreement on price on i bought his coilovers, rear subframe with diff, and all the suspension arms in the front. including the upper control arm by battle version, which was discontinued about 2 yrs ago. and steering rack. the only suspension arm that arent currently aftermarket are the lower control arms. no company mass produces them right now, but a few (figs) are in the works of developing one.
So with a new set up, my car is pretty much done. the motor is set up with way i want it and making a good power, my suspension is all solid and complete, and my car looks the way i want it to. only thing thats rly left for me to do with the car is get an FD approved cage on the inside, relocate my battery to the trunk, and a few other small bits. here are a few pics from drifting. first pic was on stock set up. pictures after that were on the new suspension set up
after a few drift events, i found the need to stay planted in my seat so i sold my mk4 seats and bought and fia approved corbeau fixed seat
Its actually REALLY COMFORTABLE. i figured going with a fixed seat would strain my back or something from sitting straight up all the time but i actually find it nice and comfy. i rly dont miss my mk4 seats
i also recently painted my side skirts and rear lip all one color
not too shabby for rattle can. ill have better pics up soon
and heres just some randoms i wanted to throw up. sry for the huge post! thats it for now
