yep, happy wife, happy life =) you know that saying. I <3 that kit so much too.. we'll see how that goes

wheels are weds kranze shoki's. they are relatively light for example the fronts are light as hell compared to other 18x8s I've seen

It's definitely a great base, as for the motor, a GTE swap would be ideal, but since I daily the car atm, I don't think I can go thru with it. In the near future, possibly a thorough engine overhaul

thanks. I also like the look, but it just looks like its missing something. With the way things are going, it'll prolly take a year to get an entire lip kit..

thanks, and I know exactly what you mean. projects left and right, unfinished projects, saving up for projects etc.. never ends. and biggest money pit ever

Default March 2015. 2JZGE MT Manual Transmission ECU Rework

Been a while since I updated this, but here's a few things I've been working on.

Like the 1UZ ECU's, my 2JZ M/T ECU also had leaking caps that leaked onto the PCB. I lost some traces, a via and a diode in the process. I'm cleaning up the leaked acid as best I could with contact cleaner, acetone, and alcohol. I did not intend to remove the engine wiring harness connector, but I had to. The 10uF caps closest to this connector had the worse leaks onto the PCB. I'm ohming all the traces in the lower right hand region I should be able to reconnect all broken traces. I don't have the best vision anymore, but I am glad that I have a microscope to help follow the traces. I hope hope hope this fixes things.

Couldn't be happier. The new axial caps came in and finished this up the rework last week. The ol gurl started right up and no more white smoke filling up the neighborhood. Below are the parts that I ordered thanks to this thread here:
