just like people get Japanese 25 years old or older cars in , by boat. Only alot harder to do when there's extremely limited companies that actually ship from russia to us. I found it online in Moscow "where I was born and raised " a family friend went looked at it and negotiated a deal got temp tags for it . For a decent fee drove it from Moscow to Saint Petersburg where it got put on a ship and 3 weeks later I sent a tow truck to pick it up in Baltimore. I had to get a broker there that put it on the ship and a broker here that took it off the ship. Then it had to clear customs. All in all importing from russian is 100 times harder thenot Japan.

Yeah sounds like a lot of trouble but worth it now that its here. That car is iconic in Russia. Everybody's dream car back in the soviet days.

for sure I remember my dad had like 3-4 nivas I besically grew up in them. All bought new so not like they were beathe up junk theb in 1990 he bought a new volga, right away we took a vacation to black Sea I remember it just like now thinking man this car rides like a limousine it's hilarious to me now but that's how much of a differecent there was between the two.
