you laquered the car?

is it a one or two stage paint?

Did you spray a base coat and than a clear over it?

yes ive heard this as well

they are trying to use water based now and less toxic paints.

is the laquer a one stage paint?

from my understanding it would be a 1 stage paint.

whaaaat you guys cant use laquer in the states ouch yea its base black and i put 5 layers of urethane laquer, car is goin to look like its made out of glass ill keep you guys posted it should get interesting pretty soon motor should be goin in this week then gota install the flying lead harness for the haltech platinum sport 2k, then custom alum intercooler pipes and gota make a custom exhaust then cut and weld the drive shaft then balance it, oh yea then install the clutch pedal and master which i took off the mkiv, man after laying it all out like that makes me kinda lazy, then when i sell the mkiv shell i gota take her all apart again hehehe fun well gnight guys

ps does any 1 know how much the stock sc300 rearend/axles holds powerwise want to know if im goin to break anything at 800rwhp cant seem to find any info

whats the deal with laquer? why can't we shoot our cars with it? i thinking laquer paint must be indestructible or something.

no the goverment is cracking down on some sort of chemical that is in it.

they have done the same with house paints---and also furniture finishes and the sort.

here it is guys finally got the car out of the booth got it ready for the install and finally got it installed heres the play by play heheh oh and my big problem that the end lets see what you guys think















and heres my problem the getrag doesnt fit inside the tunnell i was tihnking of puting a 3/4 inch spacer on the crossmember i really dont want to cut open the tunnel

I've read that you can beat the tunnel out with a hammer to make the Getrags fit...

Yeah, I also read somewhere that only the last couple of model year SC300/400/Soarers had a transmission tunnel capable of fitting the Getrag transmission with no modification. Supposedly most model years require you to physically "modify" the transmission tunnel for fitment.

oh im good at physical im goin to ahve this sorted out tomorow no worries guys, nothing i cant handle, if i puta 1ggte in an ae86 i can get the getrag to fit
