Well, there's nothing wrong with the 2JZ-GTE - there's a reason it has the reputation that it has. However, the person I quoted was being quite the hypocrite, as I've seen far more 2JZ swaps than LS swaps.

Maybe it's just because it's not teh supra motorz lolololololol

And now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Lets keep the bickering here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...ls1-sc300.html

This thread wasnt made for the "LSX VS. 2JZ whorness" competition.

***Update!!***

Got the lower radiator hose mounted today, so the coolant system is almost finished. Going to try and get the heater hoses routed tomorrow provided its not too cold, then get the battery cables from the engine sorted to work with my trunk relocation.

I will post a pic of the updated engine bay tomorrow.

Picture update:

Nothing major right now. Radiator and hoses mounted in, going to start on the brackets this weekend, along with the rest of the harness. But all in all, still have a mess under the hood, but slowly sorting things out.

Fuel lines are all hooked up, going to get started on the interior as well and get it put back together except the passenger side.

Should have all of it done provided I can get my garage warm enough to work in. Right now, its 28* in my garage...fail

Oh I dont even know where to begin honestly. Off the top of my head:

PS hoses/cooler
Vacuum line for the AFPR
Exhaust
Driveshaft
Harness (being done this weekend)
Battery cables (also this weekend)
rewire new leds for hvac unit display
source/make shift boot (have a Crown bag sitting inside now)

I know there is more, just not thinking at the moment. The cold weather here in S. TX is clouding my thoughts..

Actually I dont even know where I got the Crown bag from cause I dont drink it, I stick with Patron, which was finished way before the harness was even back on the engine.

And Im actually being forced to keep the car, my wife told me flat out that if I sell it, she will shoot me in the leg....and I dont doubt it, she has easy access to our gun cabinet..

But overall it really isnt a hard swap. Pairing the wires to the body harness of the SC is very simple. The part thats taking the longest is extending the harness. There are 105 wires on the LS1 harness, and just making the extensions gave me cramps in my hands where I have never had cramps before..and Im not even done yet.

So after reading this i was bored and had nothing to do. So i "searched" for an ls engine, and found a c5 corvette ls7 and drivtrain for 6k with the 6speed. It was literally the rolling chassis without the body on it. I was going to "buy it now" then realized oh wait i have like 900 to my name and rent is due...lol But your swap has deff made me think. My buddy has a ls1 long block in his backyard for a trophy truck he is building but went with the f150 lightning 5.4l motor instead!

IF you had the funds and wanted to buy it....

corvette trans and drivetrain wont work. The transaxle is in the rear of the car!

You could use the long block only from a corvette, then T-56 trans from a Camaro, Firebird, GTO, Viper, etc...

Sorry to wedge into your thread, but anyone else had luck getting ahold of the guys who make the mounts? Nothing but dead air here, which always bodes well for a business transaction involving hundreds of dollars :\

Seriously thinking about tossing in an aluminum 5.3 in my SC on the cheap.
