My SC400 Drift SC Build!!!
Off to a good start, but aren't the door bars a bit low in terms of formula d legality? I don't think the rulebook actually specifies, but I believe they frown upon low door bars. Not sure if you're actually planning on heavily competing, but it may be something to consider.
I'm also selling some of the parts you're looking for in IL from my driftcar that I'm parting out.

Thanks. Yeah I've owned 3 s13's before and wanted an s14 for a change. Got a base model(lightweight) 95 on purpose so it never has to do emissions. Probably just gonna throw an sr, coilovers, wheels, and paint it white when I make it a daily but we will see lol. Always wanted an ls1 daily s14 too but idk what kinda money I wanna dump into this with other things I have going on already.

From what I know the top bar has to be above the drivers waist. Being that my recaro is mounted to the floor I'm already sitting a good 4 inches lower than the original seat and that top bar is about at armrest height so I think it'll do. Plus I don't know how far I'll go since it's just a hobby. Btw I meant to talk to ya about your car when you were down at gateways mdu road course drift day but never did. Chatted with the other guy with the red sc300, both your NA 2Js did suprisingly well for such a fast track, gives me quite a bit of hope for running a mostly stock 2jzgte lol. I'll let you know if I need anything off your partout, lil short on money these next couple months.
Good luck on the build, hopefully I'll see you at some events next year.
haha sick build. i like it. i like the s cars period, theyre pretty. im also damn sure i know your girlfriend. went to highschool with her. tis a small world. keep up the good work and maybe ill see it in person one day. im looking into getting an sc400 currently, i wrecked my supra and id like to try out the supras more comfy sister.

Thanks everybody.
Yeap she knows you lol. I plan on having the car in Springfield sometime when it's done but that's pretty far off.
Update: Finally getting to work on the car this next weekend. It's been about 8 weeks since I've touched it. Very busy with work and making several trips to Canada soon, so once again my car will suffer, but I'll be making the money I need to keep things going. Tossing around the idea of ls1 now too for cost/maintenance reasons so stay tuned!

Well I got to put a few more hours into the car. Not much to say so ill just post pics.
Once again the car in its current state

Decided to start with the spare tire well removal...

Cutout and flipped over

Welded in new support brace to help reinforce things and as a platform for the sheet metal for the fuel cell

Metal cut and fitted to shape, welded a little, and being riveted in

Also filled these upper 2 holes after they were cutout from where the fuel lines ran in and out

Moved on to the rear deck holes

Cut shapes, small circles are for the multiple drain holes in the floor

Welded in

Welding up the small holes

Caught the undercoating on fire many times

Finally we got the passenger seat rails mocked up and welded in

Thats about it for now. Gonna get some good progress in the next few months but things are still slow and moneys tight(budgeting), such is life, thanks for looking!
