Trans mount for this swap from Collins. A 240sx rubber mount that goes along with this bracket needs to be purchased separately.

Tunnel cut more for shifter.

http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/data/656/IMAG2042.jpg

Also purchased a set of 97 sideskirts, and also a 97 rear bumper. Going to decide which I like better (97 rear bumper or Rideskinz rear lip) once I mount them, and sell the one I like less.

At this point I'm pretty much just waiting for the 240sx mount to arrive, and waiting for the drive shaft from Collins. Once I have that stuff, time to start it up and see if it goes anywhere.

Hey bro, nice touch with the braided line cut...it's a technique I'd have to remember! lol, but seriously it's looking good. Can't wait to see those other parts?

LOL Wingless Royal jade mafia!

You would be third in line, but it's funny to see all these wingless SC's!

Keep up the good work B. The chisel trick is very cool.

Can't tell you how many frayed ends i've made with even the fastest cutoff wheel.

Halon Apr 19, 2013 06:27 AM

Probably won't be wingless for much longer ;)

AWww AWWWWW!

Lol, I'm doing a little spoiler experiment, maybe it won't pan out, we will see.

Got the trans mostly mounted up. Filled it up with some fluid just so I could do a test start-up on the car to see if it starts or leaks. She fired up pretty quick! Although towards the end it kind of sounds like a cylinder is miss firing or something, minor stuff hopefully. But overall pretty happy she fired right up and sounded good for the most part!

No idea yet what that noise is at the end of the video where it sounds like something fell onto the floor, lol.

cleanest I've ever seen, seriously, thats awesome. good luck!

Got some more body stuff. 97 skirts + door molding from RGW on here. 97 rear bumper and the little side extensions that go with it. Got the rear bumper because I want to try both the lip on my 92 bumper, and just the oem 97 bumper, and see which like I look better. Which ever I decide, I'll sell the other.

Since the car was misfiring, I went and got some new plugs. I have a dozen NGK's here, but didn't want to waste them / foul them out during this first few hundred miles of getting bugs worked out. So all the MKIII guys seem to have good luck with cheap Autolite 3923's, so I grabbed a set of those for dirt cheap to run for now until I get the bugs worked out. Took some pics to compare them to the NGK's in case anyone cares. They are very similar appearing.

Got the cross member and 240sx mount installed. Clutch is bled, feels nice and firm. Started up the car with the new plugs, runs decent but still misses a little bit. Will troubleshoot that some more this weekend I think.

That's about it for now. Hopefully the new driveshaft is here in the next week or so from Collins, and then it's all up to me at that point to get this thing running right. So close...

Spoiler experiment

OEM 1999 Accord coupe spoiler (brake light is still in the mail). Kind of gives you an idea of how it'll look, once I drill the holes it will obviouslly sit down flush on the trunk.

Basically I've been going for the spoiler look on this guys car. Unfortunately he has no idea what spoiler it is. So after searching and searching, I seriouslly think it's an OEM 99 accord coupe spoiler, so I got one from a junk yard for cheap, hence my experiment :) It's a little different than the OEM 97+ SC300 one, similar, but different, and different enough that I wanted to try and find it rather than run the 97 SC300 one.

^^ that actually looks good.

Installed the driveshaft from Collins today. FYI that it requires the use of a Drift Motion adapter piece like this:

Here's a pic of the driveshaft:
http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/data/656/IMAG2063.jpg

Car started up, it's still running like **** even with the new plugs installed. With the rear of the car jacked up, I just quickly verified the wheels turn forward in 1st gear, and backward in reverse. I then went to install the exhaust, and one of my V-Band clamps broke. So gotta find one of those now.

Also don't think I put up a pick of the 240sx clutch line I used to go from the stock hard line to the 350z slave. Worked out pretty nice, and was dirt cheap off egay.

Driveshaft is installed. Local diesel shop came through to repair my marmon exhaust clamp, so my exhaust is fully installed. Car is off jack stands, battery charged up. It starts up real nice, but it still runs like crap, kind of like a cylinder is missing. I replaced the plugs which didn't seem to really do much. So need to just finish troubleshooting that and hopefully it's nothing serious. Then take it for a drive around the block :)

Passed the first test.

I really like the look of this spoiler also! Can't wait to see the progress you have made on the car!
