Yeah check the 350z trans thread. I think post 159 or so I have what I spent so far.
|
Also got some new parts today.
- 350z clutch slave - New Gates upper/lower radiator hoses - Additional WG springs. The one I have in there right now is a 7psi I believe. These are a 10 and a 5, so with all 3 in there my base pressure should be 22psi. Figured that's a good base pressure, will use the MBC to turn it up to 30-35. http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363224469 http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363224469 http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363224469 |
Got the WG springs installed. I bought the wrong combo so I could only get 2 in there. So I have the 10psi and the 5psi in there. So 15psi base for now. I'll get a different 3rd one eventually because I want a higher base spring pressure than that.
Got the shifter linkage cut down, and big thanks to Momin for welding it up for me! I got that back installed, along with that new shifter base bracket. Got my preliminary hole cut in the tunnel. Shifter looks like it will be near where the ash tray is. would like to modify the shifter if possible. Also installed the new clutch slave cylinder. Got more of the motor put together. I have a lot of things just finger tight for now for fitting everything together. But pretty good progress. Hopefully get a little more done tomorrow and then I head outta town for a couple weeks so she will just sit. http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363311825 |
looking great man. only thing i'd change is the ugly stock intake on these things. on mine, i'm going GTE valve covers and inlinesixperformance FFIM :)

Got a little done today. Big thanks to Joel for picking up a -10AN fitting from MAP from my drain line. I decided to try Earl's youtube method of cutting the SS Braided Line (using a chisel). Worked like a charm!
So got the new drain line done and installed. Bolted the turbo down but need to find some safety wire to wire the bolts up. Got the radiator and shroud installed. Found I broke off one of the soldered wires (must have happened while pulling the engine) so re-soldered that. Ran the harness back into the inside of the car. Continued just hooking things up as I came across them. http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363386592 http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363386592 http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363386592 http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363386592 Couple questions, in case by some random chance anyone here knows. Where does this wire go? Obviously it hooks to the negative of the batter, but no idea where the other end goes. http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363386592 Also anybody know what this is supposed to plug into? I have it labeled as intake manifold, but I don't see anywhere for it to go. Maybe it went to the EGR stuff I removed? http://mitsustyle.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1363386592 |
^^^ that might be the VSV for the egr valve. Just a guess as it has the same plug as any VSV does.
|
More progress I see!
Its coming together better each time I check the thread out. I think I have found my new way of cutting AN lines. |
neg cable bolts to block right above 2jz stamp and right below oil filter houseing.
nice build |
on the connector my 92 harness is marked egr vac switch valve.
|
Thanks for the help. So sounds like the plug is for the EGR which is gone, so no longer used. And I'll bolt that battery cable to the block.
Thanks! |
anxious to see how this is coming as of today
|
No updates. I'm in Charlotte for a couple weeks for work.
|
I've read this thread from beginning to end twice now, mainly because we have twin cars, you're a huge inspiration man. Keep it up, I think I'm more anxious than you to see how it all comes together.

Very nice project.
