Making some positive progress I see. Looks great, now if only the head would finally come in.

The long bolts in the pic ended up being too long, so I used the shorter ones. The ARP ones are for the flywheel.

Got it test fitted and up in the air. So far all the holes are lining up very nicely, and he's included about 95% of the hardware needed for this whole job which is excellent! I need to run to the hardware store to grab a few more bolts for the bottom portion, then will be dropping it into the engine bay to make sure everything fits.

Well holy ****, this thing took a bit more work than I thought to get it back in place. Was trickier than the stock trans. I got it about 75% of the way in and couldn't get it further, so decided to take a break. Went back out a few hours later and bam, amazing what a difference a break can make.

Anyhow, so here she sits. Basically it's just sitting on the 2 stock motor mounts, and I have a floor jack under the car holding up the tail end of the trans. Tomorrow the goal is to mark where the shifter is going to sit so I know where to cut a hole. Once that is done, take it all back out, cut the shifter hole, wait for the head to come back. Assemble and put it all back in. Might need to try and recruit some help for when I put it back in, would make life much easier!

What gears are you going to run in your dif?

Halon Feb 16, 2013 08:31 PM

It's an SC430 diff, 3.26.

holy crap this is actually really going to work! GOOD JOB HALON

GotRiceYo Feb 21, 2013 12:33 PM

wow! what a great build Halon!

Glad to see things coming along nicely!

How much did Schneider charge for the .040" lash caps?? I need to get some ordered for mine that are on the way

Halon Feb 21, 2013 03:52 PM

I didn't get them from schneider, the head shop got them from their own distributor.

really really nice build. Let me know how the cams go. I am thinking about putting cams in my car as well. Also really interested with the Megasquirt. I wish I had a tuner in Houston that would be willing to tune it for me.

Little update. Here's a pic showing how the trans looks from underneath.

I'm working on cutting a new hold in the tunnel for the shifter. Also got the head back. Here's where it sits as of right now.

Well was hoping to have a lot more progress on this by now, but the wife and I came down with a pretty bad flu bug so haven't been to active.

Here's the little bit I've gotten done.

- Flywheel got the new friction surface on.
- Had two bolts welded into the adapter plate to act as studs for the starter. Drilled the start holes out. Worked out great. Thanks a million Kerry!
- Mounted adapter back onto motor.
- Mounted flexplate and FW adapter to motor (loctite)

Went to mount the FW, but I think I need some different hardware. The ARP ones don't work with my JWT Flywheel :( But all is good, Collins is sending me some socket head bolts that should do the trick :D

looking good. can't wait to get some number with this thing all done up.

Halon Mar 13, 2013 04:09 PM

Flywheel installed (loctite). Clutch installed, torqued to 25ft/lbs. New TOB installed on trans.

Motor is in. New Gates serpentine belt that came with the Titan pulley fit perfect. Double checked the timing marks on the T-Belt point at the little raised nipple things, and the Titan pulley TDC mark is on the 0 on the timing belt cover. It all looks good. Only thing that seems weird to me is the exhaust cam gear, for the notch on it to point at the nipple thing, it's not straight up, it has to be a hair CW from straight up to line up to that nipple. That sound right to Everyone?
