I didn't want to hack into my visor, so I just retrofit a 350z autodimming mirror with homelink integrated:

Step by step:

Get a 350z mirror, preferably with harness pigtail.

Remove your stock mirror, there's one bolt , then it just slides out.

Determine power and ground from your stock loom

Splice into 350z harness, there's 2 power, 1 ground.

Secure the mirror onto the windshield.

Have a beer.

???

Profit.

poped the acrylic in the oven for 15 mins at 300 degrees and it got flexible. then to fix it behind the vents, i used this acrylic, plastic cement it eats away at the plastic and acrylic and fuses them together. then i sealed gauges off and mounted the leds, its sealed so it will never get dirty inside! it would drive me crazy...

Dude I wish I had the facillities to do this swap. But just the fact that you did the swap in 4.5 hours is amazing. I'm sitll in shock. I have no doubts about pulling a motor out of a car and putting in another one its just wiring I don't play with at all. So more props to you.

p.s. I only wish I could do the same thing you did when your GE motors pissed you off! Because i hate mine!!!!
