My Shine Auto Project Build Thread
#348
Well some Cliffnotes:
Makito fixed my broken fogs, filled in the gap, and added rivet nuts underneath so I can just pop in an L bracket for a license plate whenever I need it.
He ended up staying at the shop til 3am to spray my bumper. The guy is really good at spraying to the point where it has less orange peel before wetsanding than many OEM paints. Everything looked really good.
So, to let the paint cure, the bumper was left in the hot sun of Rancho Cucamonga (100+ f).
When we brought it back in at night, we found out that the area that was supported by the bumper stand warped and reshaped due to the entire weight of the bumper and the intense heat. Who the hell would have thought?
So it got reshaped back with a heat gun the the paint have already cracked
Makito is backed up with projects since the Seven Stock is coming up so he just decided to not charge me nor redo it. We all just ended up getting dinner afterward and called it a night.
Anyhow, I am still in luck. Kennedy from Platinum VIP is willing to help out by fixing the area next week

The bumper cannot be repaired in time before the meet though since Kennedy is backed up with work on other cars for the meet.
So given that, and with SevenStock going on this weekend, I won't have time to even try to find a Porter Cable polisher to buff out my car. I will just show up as-is
Oh, funny thing. When Kennedy was looking at my bumper, he didn't believe me that it was made out of fiberglass since it was so flexible

I went to a Infiniti G35 / Nissan 350z Meet today at TechnoSquare in Torrance and took a snap shot of my car.
The front bumper still haven't been fixed yet since I have been way to busy with work, school, and event photography. No polish/wax yet either until that gets done.
