Lightbulb Project IS350 - Final Stage - D2 Racing Sport (New Pics in post #64)

Ok...

Well after having my arm twisted every which way to sunday... I finally did it!!!!

I've been riding high and dry for just over 6 months.. but not any more...!!

Here is my ride with my aggressive Five Axis S5:F Gunmetal Wheels and Yokohama Advan Sport Tires riding on the Lexus Sport Tuned Suspension.

Front = 19x8.5" 30mm offset with 235/35 (36 psi)
Rear = 19x9.5" 35mm offset with 265/30 (38 psi)

Measurments on the below taken from center fender edge to level ground.

Front Left = 26.50 inches
Front Right = 26.75 inches
Rear Left = 26.50 inches
Rear Right = 26.75 inches

The Lexus lean was obvious on my car as the drivers was 1/4 inch lower compared to my passenger side.

After some extensive research on available suspension choices for the IS350, I decided that springs were not going to cut it for me.. So I knew it was going to be coilovers.
I looked at all those choices as well and still couldn’t make my decision.
Well with some more digging and help from Javylsu, we found a coil not mentioned much here on CL..

The company is called D2 Racing Sport.
(no relation to any other D2 company out there)

The RS Coilover System is a 36 way dampener and rebound adjustable monotube full coilover system. The setup has separate height and preload adjustments allowing for optimal adjustment and allowing full strut travel at all times along. Mounts are constructed of 6061 powder coated aluminum. Rubber bushings allow for a comfortable ride. Threads are teflon coated to prevent rust.

Enough talk..

Here are all the pics of the install…

Special Thanks to Tommy @ Music Box in South El Monte for doing an EXCELLENT job with my install…

Final Drop numbers were about an inch lower than the Lexus Sport Tuned suspension.
Which works out perfect for me as my daily driver..

Front Left = 25.50 inches
Front Right = 25.50 inches
Rear Left = 25.50 inches
Rear Right = 25.50 inches

So far I have had them on a week and I am very impressed with the overall ride quality and functionality of these coils.
For sure they are better than the stock springs & shocks..!!

Spring Rates:
Front 12kg
Rear 7kg

As a side note these are Nitorgen Gas filled & I look forward to them lasting many years before they need any type of service.

I will also post up some better pictures of the car tomorrow... The weather has been terrible with on/off rain all week here in So Cal..

Enjoy – Joe Z

Looks great man, the wheels look sharp too. What kind of sidemarker is that? It's not the typical JDM one most people have..

Joe, the coilovers and drop look good. However, what made you decide on the D2 product? Their reputation seems less-than-stellar (if you take internet posts at face value, that is).

How much did the coilover set cost you?

And how much did it lower the car? Any difference front/rear?

^^yea how much for the coils?

Lookin sharp, i really like the way ur car is coming along.
Also why did u go wiht these over say tein or tanabe or any of the common ones that everyone always goes for?

Fond from a site that they retail for around a bit less than $1400.
