I think the decision about transmission swaps has to make you consider at least three things.

1. Intended use case/goals
2. Budget
3. Resale value implications

I'm sure there are other things that could matter to you as well, but with a low mileage and highly original example I would think it wise to not take any budget path assuming you don't want to be penalized for it later on. If resale value implications are high for your use case, then I would suggest not performing invasive mods and stick to things that are easily bolted on or off. I look forward to seeing what you do with your own low mileage SC400!

Default Ownership Updates

Hello everyone.

Thanks you for your knowledge and guidance! I’ve been driving the car for a week or so now (it was just pulled out of storage) and I have to say: doing mods to an SC400 that is this nicely kept would be criminal. It’s smooth as butter, cushy, and classy.

My intentions:

1. Keep it forever. It’s been in my family since new.

2. Give it TLC. I want this thing to see my grandkids.

3. Eventual manual swap + lsd. But not until I have the proper time and adequate resources.

The gauge cluster is malfunctioning (speedo) and the TAPE function on the radio is out. Should I send them to Tanin Auto?
